I'm trying to replace my handguard and need to remove my gas block. Do I need some special kind of roll pin to replace the stock one or can I use a generic one of the same size from the hardware store?

Ordered that last lower you posted. That BCM upper will be ordered tomorrow hopefully. What is a good option for a scope for hog hunting and plinking? (Keeping my price range in mind)

Vortex Strike eagle 1-6x $330
Primary Arms 1-6x $270
I haven't looked at the vortex, but they come with a lifetime warranty. I had the primary arms one and thought it was great for the money. I sold it to someone on here, can't remember username. But he got it out pretty far and was nailing steel with it.
I do have a vortex viper pst 1-4x that I really like but it is more expensive.
I got your number, I'll try to shoot you a text tomorrow about the yard. You can check out what I have if you are able to come look at the yard.

I would get this instead of that aim sports stuff, primary arms customer service is just phenomenal and they make great products for the money. In fact I may order that 1-4x just to have around.

400 yards was not a problem though. Great scope

No special. Actually we used a broken punch and grinded it down to size cause we didn't wanna go to the store

Got all the parts ordered, burgeman. Appreciate the advice from you and RATeam. Just haven't decided on a scope yet. Will let ya know when it's all in

I bought a Leupold VX - Hog 1-4x20 for my .300 build.
Waiting for stamps to finish but the scope seems pretty sweet.

That upper I recommended will work with a scope, just have to shave the front sight down and get an ALG rail or lopro gas block for the rail to fit over. Either way the upper is the best quality for the money and is exactly what I would use if I were building something similar to you. In fact I have the same exact set up., just a different barrel. I bought that upper except it was the hammer forged version and shaved the fsb and put the version 1 of the above linked rail with the vortex PST 1-4x Here it is:
