I had no idea that the obamacare included requirements for physicians to ask whether there were guns in your home. Wtf? Am I the last to hear of this?

I never heard of this either. This will be one question that I will lie about.

It's not required. In fact, one of his EO was reminding doctors they can do this.

And for the record, there is absolutely no reason for a doctor to ask about guns in the house unless he/she suspects a patient is suicidal/homicidal.

Checked out snopes link. Appears y'all are correct. Some of the physicians up here actually thought they would be required to.

What brought it up is school nurses are asking kids at school if there were guns in their homes.

Seriously. One of the nurses was asking a physician about it. Said the school nurse was quizzing her kid about it. Not sure what the kid told her.

I preach to my little one that us having guns is a secret, and not to tell anybody. Then i will say "Do you have guns in your house?" She says, "Whats a gun?"

I just had that same chat this morning with my 2 youngest youngins.

In addition, we also chatted about calling me / our attorney instead of the cops if a bad guy gets ventilated while breaking into the house.

Only asked if the pt was a threat to self or expressed thought to others.

Otherwise none of my business and would be just another box I click indicating I asked and the pt answered no similar to all this meaningful use bullshite.

If I was blessed with children....mine would know not to tell anyone what we had. My father instilled that in me, and I'll instill those teachings in mine, should I ever be blessed.

Only time I ever got suspended from school was for a fight. My dad told me if I didn't whip the bully's arse...he'd whip mine if I came home bitching about it again. So I listened to my ole man. That's what this world needs more of, period.
