Nope, it's either Sahara Desert or Rainforest. More Rainforest as of late.

I would have severe depression if i lived in Washington state and had to deal with this rain all the time.

I bet its come up two feet today. I've been watching the Boardwalk's retaining wall all day and they've got about four feet before it spills over. When I got to the office this morning it was about six feet from the top of the wall. Also, the amphitheater behind the splash pad on the Shreveport side is completely full of water.

The Eldorado actually looks like a boat now.

That's a lot of water. I've always wondered how high the casinos can go before the 'on ramp' is stressed.

You rang?

So they keep saying, "the river is going to crest at 29" (flood stage being 30).

Surely this isnt the end of it? I would think by the end of the week things will be worse just from the flow from North?

At Sam's Town, they would move the on ramp down a level, so instead of boarding on the middle level, you boarded on the bottom. There were definitely some times when security guards were pushing little old ladies up the ramp because the river was on the rise, though

I worked there right out of college 10
Years ago.

My office faces the river downtown and I've been watching the trees coming down for the last week. BIG trees. Been a whole forest of old trees headed down the river. Has anyone been to the dam lately to see what that looks like? It's got to be covered up in log jam.

That's the river's only saving grace. We flush that crap towards those bastards in Elic.

drove over the new OK Allen bridge this morning, looking north toward that trestle, it looked amazingly high. I don't remember seeing it that high before, but I do remember about 8 years or so ago it silted in the entire ramp behind the hospital.

For real though, it's sad to depend on that to clean itself up. Our lakes and their salvania problem is a tragedy largely overlooked by anyone who doesn't fish or hunt.

Toledo has some flush capability, but in the last 3 years it hasn't appeared to keep up, or clear isolated/protected pockets.

You can't even get 1/4 down the buhlow access road. The water is over the road before the left turn to the ball field.

When I was there in March after all that rain, the lake from La. Islands all the way to Patroon was filled with vegetation. I am pretty sure some flushing occurred.

Alexandria will have a 2 foot rise over the next 3 days, cresting at 30ft on Friday morning.

Shreveport will crest at 29.5 tonight and hold that through the weekend.

A friend of mine just texted from south of Shreve. Alligators on the side of I-49. Maybe contractor bags?
