Tarpon is a boring family event nowadays. The shennanigans are over thanks to cell phone cameras and people falling out of trucks on LA-1

Last year, you couldn't even tell it was really going on. Looked like a normal crowded fishing weekend.

My dad used to bring me every year back then. Was always eye opening for a little 10 year old. Definitely miss what it used to be

Sure aren't many boats on the road.

LOOP radar had a busy day today though. Somebody got a really nice arse chewing on 16 for getting in the loop and continuing on course for a platform that had divers in the water.

That’s every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during summer months. The guy on the radio at LOOP radar must be exhausted at the end of those days.

Yup. They also ruined all the fun that was to be had at the prop stop every weekend.

Fished tarpon rodeo for about 30 yrs. I saw some really crazy stuff back then. One year I caught 2nd place mangrove snapper. After weighing my fish we stopped to help a sport fishing boat that had generator trouble. When we went back to get trophy that night they saw us and invited us on their boat. There was a show going on on dock and two women came out of cabin of boat with just towels on, that's all I'm going to say about that. It sure haven't been the same since things calmed down.
