Any recommendations for a thermal scope? Looking for something to mount on my AR15. Will be using to predator and hog hunt. I am guessing I would spend up to $1,500.00.

everything i have read is the thermals under 2k are all junk and to double your budget and get a Pulsar.

If you’re only willing to spend $1500 keep putting money back until you can basically double that. Magnification is digital so I’d recommend going with a higher power scope due to most use will be on low power for less pixelation. A 2x8 power scope vs. a 4x18. Big difference between 2 power and 4 power in a hunting situation. I have an ATN Thor but have used a Pulsar Thermion and really liked it. This is just my personal preferences and yours may vary. There’s also more but they’re moot due to a more higher end optic will eliminate a lot of issues experienced with a lower tier scopes. You just have to make sure you’re ok spending $3K plus on something that may not be used but a couple times a month on average by most people.

Unless you are willing to spend $3k-4k on a quality thermal scope I'd recommend looking into a digital night vision scope and pair it with a good thermal monocular which can be done for about half that cost.

$1,500.00 is pretty cheap for a quality thermal. I know you will be tempted to go with an ATN Thor, but resist. They are not worth the money. You can find good thermals for around 2K contrary to what most people in here are saying.

The Pulsar Core RXQ30V is 1,900 and a great scope for the money. Problem is I think they are discontinuing it and they are hard to find now.

The AGM Rattler TS25 is right at 2k and from the limited reviews it's pretty solid. Problem with this is it's so new so nobody has them in stock.

Bering Optics Hoster 25 is around 2300 and a really nice thermal. I have the 35 and can confirm they are awesome for the money. Apparently the 25 and 35 are very close in image quality, but the 25 has a wider FOV due to less magnification. Hard to find either one in stock because of high demand.

I've been in the same boat and found this by ATN. It's a clip-on that you'd run a standard scope in the daytime and put this on for night use. It's supposed to have Flir internals so it should be decent quality

ATN

I've been looking at these.. I wonder what the price will be, when they release them. My FIL has the Storm Optics Avenger which is very similar, but they are around $4,800.

I've *heard* around $3000

Edit; it's advertised for $2400 on a few well known sites
