Yeah waking up that morning and finding 7 dead Walker hounds dead in our yard wasnt good. My dog never left the yard, he just caught them as they ran through and killed them. The local fox hunters after that would call and let me know they were running dogs and I would put him up for the night. Had a couple threats after the first time but nothing ever came of it.

He could kill the coyotes but he would be so ripped into shreads afterwards it looked bad. His old head would be big as a basketball but once he healed and another coyote got close to the house he was doomed.

Have seen this before too. Those frickers will be very cunning, chum in a lone dog, then get the rest of the pack to come in for the attack.

Send em to the other side!

Your Jack would die within minutes.....I promise.

I change that to "would have" since my pit has since passed away.

My favorite coyote video, he's like "oh shite!" when he realizes the little guy has a big friend.

That reminds me of about two months ago when this big arse aggressive Doberman attacked my 85 lb pitt/mastiff. My other dog (70 lb pitt mix) was on the other side of the dog park and came running up all "you ain't messing w/ my brother!" but when the dobe snapped at his ear (which was already hurt from him and our friends dog playing rough) he backed off....but it was so sweet how he at least tried to protect his big brother.

all you guys talking about poisoning them, if unintended animals get poisoned - it is way way more trouble than it's worth..

No, and I can't think of any nearby with those initials. I do live around the corner from one of the lovely ladies of the Outdoor Board, although I have no idea who she is IRL.

Here is a very recent video of how to trap coyotes. It's very informative and it shows a couple of kills. You're success rate will sky rocket once you start trapping.

It's a trap

I killed 2 and gut shot 1 during deer season. They came bouncing their asses across a 12 acre hay field right at daylight, and I wreaked havoc on their mangy asses. To be honest though, that's only the second time I've seen more that 2 at one time.

This.

We've lost every cat we've had in the last ten years and one jack russel to the bastards. I talked to animal control and he said they've had this pack actually snatch foo foo dogs right off the leash while an old lady was holding it. Too many houses around to shoot them. Too many dogs and cats running around to poison them. They're too smart to trap. So there's really nothing that can be done about them. This is in north bossier.

I made the most spectacular shot of my life with my Nylon 66, I was about 12 and was riding with my dad checking fields and we saw a coyote loping parallel to us about 75 yards out in a field. My dad stopped, I propped the .22 on the window and shot once and crumpled him midstride. We could not believe I hit him and we went to look at him and the bullet impacted right in his ear killing him stone dead. It was complete utter absolute dumb luck but something my dad and I still talk about today.

Of the countless times I've seen them it's probably 80% of the time that I see a pair

Best bow shot I ever made was on one loping his arse at a fast pace out of the swamp. Laced his azz with a double lung shot at 36 yds.

Now thats how you do it ....... Jack!!! :)
