Need suggestions on RV rentalYea im not looking for anything big. More like a glorified van. Something the kids can move around it, watch tv, play video games, piss on toilet seats, stuff like that
If you can do without the toilet and beds(if you dont plan on staying in it, just look for a church bus/van rental, borrow some 12 volt tvs or bring an inverter.

I had a neighbor years back that was service mgr at millers rv. Used him to talk to owner about renting one to drive down to Daytona, florida for a week just to do something different. They wanted $1000plus had to pay for week at beachside campground. Said to hell with that and we flew and stayed at a nice condo on the beach for not much more. Don't get me wrong I would like to do it, just so damn expensive.

I looked into it last summer, was gonna take the crew somewhere in the Ozarks. My plan was to drive to Shreveport, rent the RV there, then drop it off on way back. I think my math still said about $1,000-1,500 for a week.

You will spend over that in diesel..expect to get 5-6 miles per gallon. 1600+ miles at 4.00 a gallon.
Good grief surely a diesel can't be that bad. In 1994 my mother bought a 1986 Fleetwood class C motorhome, 26 ft. With a 460 Ford and plenty of power it got about 7.5mpg. Of course gas was a lot cheaper back then.
She sold it in 1996 but that was after we took trips in it to Wisconsin, New England and Florida (all from Alabama). Never did take it on the grand 3 week trip to California because even back then Mom couldn't justify the price of gas for a trip that far.

We plan on driving it up to Kansas and staying in it a day or two and then coming home. Might take a 2 day trip home and see some sights. I wanna save as much money as possible but will spend whatever I have to

Get some tents, take the truck and haul arse up there, camp for a couple of days, and then work your way back south seeing the sights...

With the yuppie bride and kids I have there is no way that would work. Besides, whole point in getting an RV is making the travel time more enjoyable for the family.

He could pay for the trip by finishing concrete on the way.

I just got 1200 dollars worth of grips on my truck. Driving to Ks in June would have them soft as bubble gum and bald as Justin Beavers pussy.

Nodust,
They look pretty tired. Must have been the ones out on my street laying concrete in the dark this morning. Passed by at 7 and they already had 3/4 the slab already layed and finished.

If it has a generator, they will also generally charge a fee for how many hours you run it.
Diesel pusher will get 6-7mpg and is probably bigger than what you need.
Stay with Class B, van type, gas burner, and it will work well.

I know a guy who drove his motor home to Yellowstone park one summer. He spent $2200 on fuel.

Most diesel pushers of 38-43 ft get 8-10 MPG when not pulling a toad. It depends primarily on how fast you drive and the wind. The difference between 65 and 75 MPH can be 1-2 MPG. I try to keep mine at 65 on interstates, and I average about 8.5-9.0 MPG (40 ft with Cummins 360 HP).
A smaller gasser (32-36 ft) will liklely get 8-11 mpg, depending on weight and speed.
Other things to consider:
1. Will you sleep in RV? Will save hotel costs.
2. Will you cook and/or heat up meals in RV? Will save significant meal costs.
3. Will you need a separate vehicle at your destination? May need a rental car.
4. Can someone else drive? Easy to drive straight through and be rested when you arrive.

Will be basically living out of it. Plan on staying a night or two or maybe 5. Just depends on what happens when we get there. Will have a vehicle already there to use to run around in.
Have everything planned out, just looking for suggestions on places that rent the smaller motorhomes.
