You really have to want to quit. If you want to bad enough then do it.
If you try want to quit cold turkey is the best way.
If you want your little girl to grow up without a dad keep doing it.
My dad died on Christmas morning 1.5 yrs ago from lung cancer after smoking for years.

Please give an update on the Shark Tank stuff when you use it. I also watched the episode and was very intrigued.
Referring to the Smokey Mountain substitute:
I used this stuff during an unsuccessful quit attempt and researched it a little. (unsuccessful because after 2 months of success I had a weak moment and went back to it). The main ingredients are corn silk, molasses, and cayenne pepper. There are a couple of other things but not very relevant. The only true danger I can imagine is just the trauma that the friction causes to your gums.
One way cancer starts is when your cells have to replicate in order to heal. The process can have mistakes, and sometimes that mistake leads to a nasty mutation leading to cancer (In a very dumbed down way, it's similar to how a sunburn can increase your risk of skin cancer). If you use it so much that the repeated healing of your gums leads to cancer, then you are pretty unlucky. It's possible, but VERY unlikely.

Is their any cons to this stuff? Would seem as you wanted an oral fixation throughout this wouldn't harm your body if you did it for a lifetime?

Go cold turkey. It's hard as hell but you can do it.

I did it from high school till 24/25. Hardly a lifetime like many people, but I dropped it cold turkey. I was a can every 3ish days guy. Bailing hay it was a can + a day.
I decided one day that I wasn't going to do it anymore, threw half a can in the garbage, and that was all she wrote. I bummed a pinch the other night while I was hammered. Tasted like hell.
Sunflower seeds were the biggest help. Buy them. Be ready for some raw jaws. They won't give you cancer though.

Well, waiting on the coffee dip through the mail, bought 2 cans of smokey mountain it really doesn't taste as bad as everyone made it out to be. Hopefully tomorrow will be my first day without tobacco or nicotine. I didn't know they made this shite until recently. Should be interesting.

English black breakfast tea.
Seriously.
I dipped for quite a while and started dipping tea. Gradually got away from that.
If only I could smoke tea leaves when I drink...

I stopped smoking after 14 years on July 9th, 2015. I know it hasn't been long, but I'm very proud of how long it has been. It's not easy, and you have to want to. Good luck on the biopsy. Orbit Gum is my new best friend.

Didn't read anything but your post. My dentist, a fraternity brother, told me in the 70's, I think, that he would tell me when it was time to stop. In about 2009, he told me it was now time to stop.
I did..
Just stop, it's hard, I know,,, but considering the options, you can.

Biopsy came back good and on day 18 tobacco and nicotine free. Everyone talks about the first 3 days are shitty. Boy, that ain't no joke.
I usually wake up at 0330 when working days. Now I wake up before my alarms and even on my off days I'm up at 0330-0400 bright eyed and bushy tailed. Never did that before and I never knew how much dip/nicotine was holding my big arse down. My energy has skyrocketed and I just feel a lot better every day.
Just thought I'd give you fellas an update

Sometimes,, occasionally, maybe years later, you'll still have an urge where you'd be willing to fight a telephone pole for a dip. I dipped for 37 or so years and still sometimes crave. Fight and whip the urge, you can.
Only problem now is,, I don't rush thru my meal to go get my napkin lined cup, but, instead sit there and eat AT LEAST one dessert.

I had a bad hankerin for one Tuesday at work. Grabbed a pinch of the coffee dip and all was good. And the desserts have been disappearing a little faster than usual

Honestly dude, after the first few days of teeth grinding, leg bouncing, twitching, white knuckles and eyeing the shite out of everyone, it wasn't that bad. Just had to get through that.
Honestly though, I would've never attempted it while my wife was pregnant. Probably would've been divorced or at the least, put outside with the dog

Big Country, how old are you? And how long do you dip?
And congrats. Keep it going.

25. Used to take a can a week of snuff from my uncle when I was 11. Then I started buying from the rag heads at a gas station in town when I was 14.
