Surprised to hear all the hate on diesels. I don’t own one but my impression is they’re great on gas, make good power, durable and give you much better towing capacity.

The maintenance has always been the downside in my understanding.

Just too damned expensive and heavy if you don't need it.

The sad thing is, the difference between a diesel 3/4 ton and a gas 1/2 ton isn’t all that much anymore.

Spoke with a friend's dad a few weeks ago, who owns a small contracting company, and his current truck is an F250 with the 7.3l gasser. Traded in a 6.7 diesel for it and was raving about it. His brother who's in the same business went get one after he got his.

Yeah I got slapped across the face yest with a big trucks are too exp dick.

My know the owner of a dealership personally so I was gonna trade with him and get deal.

Well my 21 z71 is about 5k upside down and it’s got 100k miles already
I was looking at a 24 Chev 2500 diesel

Long story short I would be financing 85k

I said F that.

Zero rebates
High int rates
Zero incentives

Not a good time for ole tlee to swap trucks. … or anybody else’s for that matter.
At least on these more exp ones

Man it's totally outrageous what a 3/4 ton diesel costs. I dont think you can leave the lot for less than 62-65k for the most basic 4x4 these days. It's harder to find one less than 80k than more.

It’s terrible… quick glance at my local ford and they have a F-150 4x4 XLT at “$9000 off”, listed for $59K. I’m at the point where I’m going to drive my truck until the wheels fall off…. And then buy new wheels.

Sorry to hijack the thread, just had to vent on the ridiculousness.

It is a sad day when the ram is the most reliable truck out there.

The loss of the tundra and 19+ Titan V8 meant GM and ford should have had it easy to hold that title with the 5.0 and 6.2.

Instead they throw a shite trans behind both of them.

A 23 pro4x titan is 48-51 depending on dealer

A 23 sv, which is the equivalent of an xlt, is 45-47.

Just saying.

To me the pro4x is worth it just for the lights and bed management.

If it's being paid for, get anything you want. If you drive a lot, get the most comfortable one.

And with the new hybrid bullshite in the tacoma you had better go back to a frontier

Fullsize truck under that midsize frame.

Toyota lost me when they killed the 3.4 in the tacoma.

Tacoma is a different story. I’m buying one for my son in the next few weeks when he gets his license. I am not driving a Tacoma for work though. Don’t know if I clarified this or not, but I get to use my work truck outside of work also. I sold my person truck years ago. With all of the issues with trannies on gas trucks, I’m 90% sure I’m going diesel at this point.

Just get the ford with the 7.3 gasser.

Can pull a house and doesn't seem to be breaking every 10ft.
