Looks like a nighthawk without the white on tail. Maybe a juvenile

Yep, Common Nighthawk. They're one of my favorite birds, especially when flying. You can't mistake it for anything else when it dives and makes that sound. Sometimes you'll happen upon them during they day just chilling and sleeping on a fence post. They make their living at dawn and dusk.

We had one in our hangar last week, juvenile like that and it ended up passing. Wonder if its just that time of the year the juveniles are leaving the nest or what is going on.

I don't think that's a juvenile, it has young with it. Back right between the tail and railroad tie.
