I guess nascar takes place outdoors?
I guess this thread could go on the OT. Can’t go on the More Sports Board Bc it’s not a real sport.

Was a big fan in the 90’s & early 2000’s but lost interest as the sport & the people changed. Started betting it on it recently and now I’m engaged. Without waging a bet, I’d have little interest.

Us classy baws have moved on to Formula 1 now
Everything about F1 is interesting except the actual races. I watched one and the announcers, on the first lap, were talking about how important it was that the #2 car pass Hamilton on the first turn after the start because he almost couldn't win if he didn't. I wish they could improve the race product.

NASCAR for me died with Dale Earnhardt.
It never recovered.
Jr kept it on life support for a few years, but even he couldn't keep the Karens out for long.
Bland woke racing makes it real boring. At least formula 1 is up front about everything being the same, but at least the cars are 225 mph engineering marvels and not some 500hp crap box that pretty much anyone can drive competitively. Hell, I've gone 175 at a short track in a 2000s Era sprint cup car. It's not as hard as it used to be nor as hard as they try to make it out to be.

Today's Nascar reminds me of that abomination IROC. Where's the cheating? The bending of rules to get the slightest edge? The drivers with huge personalities? I want to see AJ Fort whip some arse in the pits.

Need to watch this season of F1. They change the rules every few years when someone figures it out.
Red Bull/Ferrari has a leg up.
Hamilton isnt even beating his teammate who is new to the merc team.

Check out the races this season, they changed up the regulations to improve the dirty air for the following car to make passing easier. The first 2 races have had some great racing.

I quit watching in the 90s when I realized the old guys just wanted to place for the points, while the young guys were the ones wrecking trying to actually win the race.

Everyone is pretty much running the exact same equipment, and car, which to me SUCKS !
It really has no resemblance whatsoever to actual stock car racing anymore. Dirt tracks FTMFW.

Jr is a Karen. He was part of the downfall. He is a good historian of the sport and has a lot of good stories though. His personality/beliefs is very much in the Karen group that is currently running the show.
