8 lbs of ground venison cause it had been in the freezer 18 months. What say you? How long can you keep wild game in the freeze?

Was it freezer burned? A frost free freezer will dehydrate anything and everything after a while.

I'll keep mine for 6 months max, but that's because I go through it quickly. It starts to lose flavor, nutrients etc. after sitting in there for a while. However, I know people who keep meat in their freezer for a few years, claiming its fine.
