My friend is in deep shite, (any advice would be great) UPDATE

My friend is still alive, however his wife was pissed. She is making him reapir all the holes in the wall as she should. She mase him sell his gun to his father and dropped the bomb on him that she is pregnat. Other than that he said it went real well. Let's all hope this will wake him up to be more carefull, especially with a future hunter on the way. (He may need the outdoor board to train his new baby on gun safety )

"his buddy" cleaning his 30-06 finishes cleaning rifle puts loaded mag in gun...puts bolt back in gun...does not realize this put a round in the chamber....dry fires weapon for shits and giggles...shoots a hole thru every wall of his house and stops at the brick wall on the outside.

I'm not sure that's what happened. I thought he was cleaning the gun and just pulled back the bolt and hadn't checked the magazine (left it in the gun) and unknowingly chambered a round.

either way...loaded mag in gun before or after cleaning...he works the action...and then dry fires.
I mean hell a 30-06 round is only 4 inches long and we all know how hard shinny brass is to see....

This is what I dont understand. Plus your pushing a round in the chamber. Anyone knows that there is added tension when chambering a round. The bolt doesnt exactly just slide shut.

One dumbass that needs to take a saftey course. Rule #1 is that ALL guns are to be treated as loaded!
This is another point about having large guns for home protection. People, please think of using a shotgun for home defence with buckshot. The buckshot will slow down once it goes thru to 2 sheets of dryboard to the point that it will not kill someone in the next room.

2. Friends were never allowed to bring their guns in our house. Dem be outside toys
