It isn't free if he has to let a dude handle his junk for it. IMHO he would be paying WAY too much for a shotgun.

OK. The next one is a beretta handgun. I think it is a 40 cal model 96, full size maybe a 4.5" barrel. I dont know. Two mags with a plastic case. The box of ammo is half gone and I bet those are all of the rounds ever fired from this gun.
I am saying $450.

Is it stainless? The stainless ones go for about $650-$700 new. If it's black, more like $550-$650 new.

If it has a few 100 rounds through it, $450 is reasonable.

Hate those guns. I wouldn't pay 150 for one. Wouldn't value it over 350/400

A gun is worth what one is willing to pay for, I'd pay $750 so it's worth $750 now

Thanks guys. The beretta is black.

And these are NOT stolen guns. I was there when he bought the Browning.

I'm not going to insult your friend, or call you a liar, but something else is going on here. It seems strange that a longtime gun owner, and a duck hunter at that, would just give away his guns because he has kids. There are several ways to keep the guns out of the hands of children of any age.

I do agree with the other guys that having kids come into the world isn't a reason to get rid of his guns. I would feel as long as he stores it responsibly, having kids is MORE of a reason to have a firearm to protect them.

But then again, it's your friends call. I guess you can just kick back and enjoy benefiting from his irrational move.

Unless he adopted some sneaker enthusiast, then it makes perfect sense.

I'm with you on this one, Yat. Something is definitely not right in this situation.

Any takers on this being a completely made up story by the OP and he's just looking to get values on guns he already owns?

The next one is the one I really wanted. It is a Henry lever action .22, wood stock. I didnt have a 22. This thing is in very good condition and is practically new. I think he only fired subsonics at yard tree rats. No scope. $250?
