I am going with the green mountain sporter, 20" fluted. I want to keep it light.

IIRC, current Weaver scopes (like nearly all other optics) is made in China.

I thought the Weaver Classics were made in Japan. My RV-7 on my 10/22 was made in Japan and is not that old.

Classic and Super/Grand Slam are made in Japan. Kaspa and Euro like are China or Phillipines.

Yes, 20"

30 would be a tad bit long

Did you get everything in? I'd definitely like to see the final product.

I haven't gotten to get all of the things I want for mine yet but already started dropping hints to the wife.

No not yet, I've been out of town for two weeks with work. Going to get the rest of everything ordered when I get back in town.

Thanks for the clarification. It gets very confusing now days trying to keep straight where optics are made. I guess one would be right 99% of the time if one said Japan, China or Philippines.

I want to eiterh get a new barrel for my take down that is threaded or get my barrel machined with threads.

Anyone have a decently priced threaded take down barrel or has anyone gotten their existing barrel threaded?

I have always wanted to do up a real nice 22. I have a older one with the Hogue overmold stock with a UN-threaded bull barrel that I thought about modding. But then I was looking at a Kidd super grade that they put in the magpul stock that has a really easy way to swap out barrels among a lot of other things. But...its pricey. I never sat down and priced out building one myself but this one seems to have a lot done...

I've not done any research re: the take down barrels. OTOH, when I was weighing options for my 10/22, it was going to cost $75 or so to have it threaded, plus shipping (or spending a day off delivering and picking it up myself). For me, I thought it best to spend a little more to get a threaded custom barrel instead of paying to have a factory barrel threaded.
