Might have to call to get an appointment. All you big money folk could slip in there next time you go to a state game.

went to opening day of Gordy & Sons. Got to go into the vault, and Russell placed a $250k Purdey in my hands for me to hold. Beautiful gun

Good jumping christ in a handbasket....after three trips to the duck blind that thing'd look like a winchester ranger!

I shot skeet with a Purdey in Germany once....wasn't for sale at any price but the owner mentioned something about 140,000 euros! It was some kind of sweet side by side but that was about $210K at the time.....it may have been one of a pair though, I am not sure....

Either an original WW2 Johnson Rifle or the BAR. Have seen and held both.

$82k is a typo, right?

Probably not, take a look at some Krieghoff or Perazzi

But it is a Berretta? I always assumed a shotgun nearing $100K would be a name I did not know like the other two in the quote.

I was the first Gun Library Manager in the Gonzales Cabelas. I sold a used Purdy for $96K. It was over 1/2 of the total sales for the entire store that day.

Man I would love to! What a site!

I never understood the cost of shotguns at that level compared to rifles of comparable quality. The SS Rifles are close to the same cost as SS smoothbores.....but surely the workmanship has to be of a higher caliber in making a rifle barrel over a shotgun barrel??? If you are hunting ducks with a $100K shotgun the worse thing that can happen is dropping the thing in the drink.....if, on the other hand, you are hunting big game in Africa with a $100K rifle the worse thing that can happen is you get trampled or eaten.....if the gun malfunctions in the latter situation had things ensue....it would seem that the risk involved in the rifle would make it more valuable LOL

I got to shoot a PPSH. Wonder how much that gun is worth? Sure was a fun gun to shoot. Was full auto as well

Most of the shotguns that you are referring to are used for English driven hunts. They are not used for duck hunting in the marsh.

A person would be a fool to take one to the marsh....ive got a japanese citori that I duck hunt with and I feel bad about it LOL.

I bet most of those guns are used a couple of times in their lifetimes, especially now. It may have been different when Nash Buckingham was still alive but most people who would buy such a gun today probably don't spend a lot of time hunting....the exception may be the big bore side by side and O/U rifles....it seems like safarri'ing is still something rich folks do.

Man I'm going to that coffee and cigar shop in Sugar Land next time in that area! You gotta love Texas oil money! Some of those folks know how to enjoy money! Where else would you find a dry goods store started before the civil war that is now selling coffee, fine cigare and $150K English guns???
