I’m ready to start looking at options for building a camp on my lot. It has to be elevated on pilings, probably 10 or so feet. It’s in a nice area, so no trailers or shipping containers. It’s gotta look semi legit. Looking at about 1000 to 1700 sq ft. Two or three BR with a nice porch on the back end. I’ve seen some decent metal buildings and some decent modular builds that would work. Not looking for doing diamond elite accommodations, but not a shed either. What’s the most affordable building? Traditional stick built? Modular? Metal building? I’m pretty handy and can do some finish work myself. Don’t want to tackle the major construction. Learn me something. What y’all say?

Building supplies are going through the roof right now. Are there covenants that prevent a house trailer?

I'll let you do the research but right now I think one of those 50k house kits from Amazon on pile elevated subframe is the cheapest way.

Yeah baw. Buy you a house kit delivered to your door!

Though (before this last spike in prices at least) I’m not sure how much of a deal they were because they were missing lots of necessary components (foundation, electrical, plumbing, etc)

I just designed a camp for a guy. Metal building 40x40 22' eave height 4:12 roof pitch. The main floor is 12' above grade and the six columns sit on a slab on grade, so no piles. He's going to stick frame a shed on the ground level and also park his cars under there. He also bricked around the columns... Looks really nice and can't tell it's a metal building at all. He said it was a good bit cheaper than driving piles.

I’d like to learn more about that. How can I contact you?
