I've never scratched at this place. But the earliest I have been there is Memorial Day Weekend. Easy fishing. Let me know if you go to Big Lagoon and how you do.

Thanks. We're you pretty much fishing typical beach type setting you'd see in FL? Or did it resemble LA at all?

This is way different from LA. This spot is mainly grass flats and piers. Very clear water too. It's my favorite place to fish.

That works. I use a cork there quite a bit to keep the bait out of the grass too. Spinner bait by piers works great.

If you wanna have some fun, get some live shrimp or cut bait, paddle out about a mile or so and catch some big ladyfish.

I figured with so clear of water corks might do more harm than good

But that's great bc I love using a cork

Boiling crawfish for a bunch of friends in Northern CA who have never eaten them. Should be interesting.

When I boiled 40 pounds of shrimp for my gfs family in Missouri, they would grab a few and go inside when I had tables set up to eat around

Sounds like the kinds of antics I'm about to witness on Sunday. I told my kids that if they heard anyone same crayfish or crawdad that they were to forcibly remove that person until they could properly pronounce the critter's name.

"I've always had them peeled for me"

There were more people watching me boil them than standing at the table as they came out
