Anyone here booked a trip with Misty Morning Outfitters or know of someone who has? I'm from Covington, LA and a buddy and I went last week on a trip that we scheduled back last spring. Due to incompetence by the owner/operator we left our trip 2 days early (deerless).

Through what little conversations we had during our trip with this one man show we learned that there were 4, possibly 5, hunters from LA in the first week of December who also left early pissed off. We think 1 from BR, 1 from Franklinton, 2 from Pierre Part and maybe one more.

We are trying to recoup some, if not all, of the hunt cost and figured if any Louisiana hunter that left a paid hunt in Kansas 2 days early is probably as unhappy as we are.

If any posters know of or are these hunters please contact me at 711tdob@gmail.com

And obviously my recommendation is stay away from this outfit!

Care to elaborate? Bad hunting? No deer? Did he stick y'all in a small patch of woods behind the local family dollar?

Lot of things.
No corn where he claimed he "put 400lbs out the night before" at stands, left us waiting for over an hour picking us up after hunting in the afternoons, we both came with rifles prepared to "reach and touch one" and were put in stands for bow hunting. Even after bringing up to him that shooting a deer with a .300 win mag @ 15yds wasn't exactly the game plan he still put us in the same spots.
Just to name a few

I had the same poor experience with a local guide there. We met the owner of Misty Morning Outfitters while there and he put us on some duck and geese the last 2 days we were there. Can't speak firsthand about the whitetail hunting, but it seemed first class.

I could write a novel on bad outfitters. Until you've slept in a cabin with wild cats and pet raccoons, while an 80-yo senile man kept trying to break in and accuse you of living in his house, you ain't even had a bad hunt.

Had a similar experience we got put up in a trailer park one time in Missouri..went like this..got there and the guy informed us we had no water in our trailer but the neighbors had water and they were gone for the weekend so we could use there shower and shiter and he unlocked it for us..also we may have to clear is a path out to the back bedroom where the only bed was. then at 2 am I heard some beating on the door then a guy (the neighbor) kicked in our door apparently drunk (he didn't go home just went to the bar) screaming don't f n come in my trailer anymore and steal my dam remote..talking about the remote for the TV which the owner handed to us after he unlocked his trailer and told us it was the remote for our TV

I had a guide in Toledo bend send me a bunch of pictures from his gallery once. Something seemed a little off about the pictures because the terrain was rather vast and the differences didn't make sense and when I saw some of the pictures on Facebook from some of the hunting sites I knew something was up.

Glad I didn't go on that trip.

Can I please read a thread that doesn't contain this tired, over-used joke?

Although I've only been on a handful of guided hunting and fishing trips, I'm certain there are a lot of con artists out there trying to take your money. With that being said, the vast majority of these crooks can be sniffed out with a good amount of research and commonsense. If you didn't you the research, that's your fault.

We were actually hunting public land but we ate breakfast with this guy the year before and he told us he had some places he rents to hunters a lot closer to the land we were hunting than the hotel we were staying at it was actually a little closer but not by much . So we got his number and that's how it all started.

This is the kind of crap that keeps me from going to the midwest. If I spent 2 years worth of club dues and had anything less than a magical experience I would freak the hell out on someone.
