Me and my Cousins Got on them Big Crabs Today

Had the day off for a system upgrade at work, and my cousins who live in Paris are heading back Sunday so I decided to take them crabbing today on my birthday. We set our first nets out at 8 and had our 144 limit at 10:30. Stopped on the way in and got a good truck stop burger.

I took my little guy and his friend on Saturday. We got 4 1/2 dozen. they had a blast.

Mine go back to school Thursday, I have a 9th grader and a 7th grader. I love crabbing, I just wish I could catch specks or bass like I can catch crabs.

The two upside down show they are males. I like the males for ease of picking when compared to females, but I prefer females with all that yellow and orange fat in them.

That orange stuff is eggs, my favorite part. These were 99% males, and full of meat and fat, I kept 20 and gave my cousins the rest. I'm going to pot fry them tomorrow.

That's a lifetime memory for them. Crabbing is one of my favorite activities.

I'd love to catch some Dungeness Crabs and Halibut, but the way my checkbook is set up I'll have to settle for blue crabs and perch.

Many days I wish I was crawfishing and catching specs and reds.
Went halibut fishing my 1st time this year, no luck.
