I started a thread a month or so asking for advise on getting into bow hunting. I was originally planning on buying a new deal, but decided used may be the way to go. Can you fine fellas tell me if this is a decent deal? It looks pretty new in the pictures.

Comes with soft case, muzzy drop away rest, 4pin apex sight, release, and a couple arrows. It's set at 30" draw and 70 lbs. Asking $375 obo.

Make sure it will fit you (Matthews do not have adjustable cams. You'd have to buy new ones if the 30" length is wrong for you). Otherwise that's a good deal

I love my switchback. Sweet shooting bow. But yes there is limited adjustment on the mathews cams. An inch or so each direction and you have to change em out.

Buy it, I love my Switchback XT. They are still one of the better hunting bows Mathews has ever made.

Well frick, I saw it on Craigslist and the guy had gotten rid of it and forgotten to take the ad down. But now I know kinda what to look for I guess. Saw some more like it for 450ish

Make sure its a Switchback XT and not just a plain Switchback. The XT is twice the bow that a Switchback is IMO

twice the bow? So the XT to the Switchback is like my current Switchback is to my old Browning Cobra that I had in about 1980?
i respectfully disagree and i'll also add IMO..

How much better is that Outback vs say a new top end Bear? I know so little about bows that it isn't even funny.

Well I am partial to a Mathews because I have been around them so long, that being said you really can;t get a bad bow these days. You would not go wrong getting a new, newish Bear. Lots of folks shooting them these days including people here.

Good to know because I'm reading reviews on all of the ones out there and seeing a bad review is rare. Its making this process agonizing. A coworker has a friend who owns a pretty large bow shop in Lucedale MS so I may ride out there this weekend and just shoot a bunch of different ones to see what is best for me.
