They're just trying to save face at this point. This tells you how much money they had the ability to pay the anglers the whole time, they just didn't want to.

Theres only be say No to BPT at this point. Zaldain and Lowen. BPT will not have to move very far down their list to get 80 . I like getting the younger FLW guys who have a bit of a following. My big question is Jordon Lee , Lucus,Bertrand and the other young Elite Guys. With the new BASS payout they can make good bank fishing against a bunch of stiffs now

Any reason why Scott Martin’s name isn’t being discussed?

Dudes been killing it as far as YouTube following and just overall exposure.

They’ve got some good sticks. Time will tell if the format will make for good fishing. Big fish will still be at a premium but the numbers game could blow it apart.

Figured he would.

Regardless, the field is stacked and will be some great competition.

And that's only just over half of the field. On Bass Talk Live Duckett said they planned on announcing the full field sometime this week.

I saw Ike live also about the topic.
Makes you wonder what is going on with the growth of the sport. Seems like split will tear up the existing fan base which they claim has not grown much.

They did also talk about bass boat sales versus late 1980’s.

I agree I can afford a nice loaded bass boat , but not many people can afford one. I bought my grandkid a loaded skeeter with 150 hp to fish high school tournaments 2 years ago. He thought that was an insult compared to what other kids are using. Wow, in my day that would have been the Cadillac boat.

The avg person cannot afford $3k of Tackle, $50k to $75k bassboat, gas, and entry fees. I think that does hurt attracting younger kids to the sport along with people trying to compete professionally in the sport.

Kayaks and basspro selling a boat package for $10k to $11k after fees helps get younger people in the door. Having more parks and public water where people can fish from the bank would help also grow the sport.

1. You should have sold the skeeter the second your grandson didn’t worship you for it. I have a 2012 18’ ranger with a 150 that I bought used and worked 10 years for it.

2. The sport won’t grow much if any bc it’s not easy enough for kids who are lazy to get good at. Our youth wants intstant gratification. Turn on the video game and in one minute you have action. They aren’t dragging a rig on a hump for 8 hours for 5 bites.

3. I hate to be that guy about our youth, and these are just my opinions

A little late to this discussion but I have a lot of thoughts on it.
1. no doubt MLF and BPT have changed the game as far as payouts.
2. Regardless, I'm surprised how fast so many anglers have turned on organizations that basically built their career.
3. FLW and BASS are going to have to evolve if they want to stick around.... meaning the good ol boy network is gonna have to take a good hard look in the mirror and ask hard questions.
4. I wonder if it'll be easier for me to qualify for the elites now....

Elites have sweetened the pot big time. FLW is dead in the water. I look for BASS to cherrypick what they've got left. BASS hoping for J Lee. J Lucas. Ike and Ish to stay and become face of the brand.
