Ask someone from LW&F to hook you up with some of them grass carp they like to destroy lakes with....you'll never see another blade of grass again
Anything you get and learn to use is going to be light years better than your 15 year old unit. I've used Helix's the last two years and like them. I do quite a bit of crappie fishing as well and use the side imaging for finding brush and usually a split screen of down imaging and traditional sonar while fishing. If I was gonna set up a crappie fishing boat from scratch I'd really look hard at the Garmin units though...the panoptix livescope technology looks like an amazing tool for that type of fishing
Its hard to comment on that until MLF announces what they are gonna do...I think they'll ultimately create something of their own design outside of BASS and FLW

they're going to have to have a circuit set up to feed the MLF with pros with name recognition

I disagree with this...they are gonna have something set up as a feeder system but the MLF shows create plenty of name recognition for these guys. I don't think guys like James Watson, Fletcher Shryock, or even Keith Poche had near the name recognition that they have now before they started fishing MLF

I don't see how the BPT format will ever work for a live weigh-in at all.

MLF (BPT) doesn't care about weigh-ins, they care about what someone is wiling to watch on TV. The MLF format is more entertaining to a fan because there is real time information and drama heading to the finish line (like every other sport on TV). I think they are trying to model this after golf with the hope of one day having the final few hours of a major fishing tournament live on TV. I don't know that it will ever get there, but it has a better shot than current BASS weigh-in style tournaments.

What kind of scene is there in Cullen?

Lots of pine trees...maybe a deer on the side of the road.

I think deer will eventually get used to whatever you use. I've used regular rice bran for about 5 years with good success and tried a couple of flavors last year because that's all I could find...when I switched they avoided the flavored bran at first but eventually ate it. The regular is usually cheaper so I just stick with that.
KVD is also making the move....Elite Series field gonna look like an Open
Seth Feider declined the invite....best announcement of any I've seen
gonna be several guys with Louisiana ties in the BPT...Cliff Crochet just announced he's making the switch

Of course he is. His #1 sponsor is Bass Pro Shops the signed on as corporate partner of BPT

One interesting question is if media personalities like Zona and Hite (who also are sponsored by Bass Pro Shops) will make the switch...Supposedly the live coverage will dwarf what the Elite Series has done in the past
Hackney, Kelly Jordan, Jason Lambert, and JT Kenny have announced they are making the move.

I don't see any of the current MLF guys staying with BASS...I'm interested to see what Swindle does since he's said before he doesn't really like the MLF format

My buddy said you'll see most of the older guys go mlf, but a lot of the younger guys had to work too hard to qualify to get where they are and they can't leave on the hope that this new thing will work out. I'm not saying I agree with him, but that is his thinking fwiw

As a young guy I'd think you'd want as much exposure as possible...MLF certainly will not be beat there...being 1 of 80 professional anglers invited with a 3 year guarantee would seem like a hard deal for a young guy to pass up to me
I don't see any of the current MLF guys staying with BASS...I'm interested to see what Swindle does since he's said before he doesn't really like the MLF format
Doesn't sound like its possible to do both...Skeet and Horton both admitted they will no longer fish BASS
The anglers are what makes it the most prestigious...It will no longer be that after the 2019 Classic unfortunately
Evers, Skeet, Horton, Z. Birge, Marty Robinson, & C. Lane have all announced they are going to MLF...Alton Jones announcing tonight...Even with the BASS counter I doubt very many turn MLF down
RFer has the authority to call off the 2nd baseman even if the second baseman can get there...The RF is the only one who went at it incorrectly....2B should have been called off
one player failed trying while the other player failed to try...their coach may not say a word but if he got on anybody I guarantee it was the right fielder
I've used a Drift Innovations Camera for about 4 years now and have been happy with it. Went with it over the GoPro at the time because it was able to zoom. It has a remote that I wear on my wrist with a blinking red or green light so I know if its recording or not. Having just a little zoom helps on duck hunts although the shots still appear farther than they really are.
