It's got a pile of hunting shite (clothes, accessories) if you are in need of some. Not the best selection of guns. It was better before Bass Pro bought it, but it's still worth a visit. The Chene store is next door if you need more hunting shite and have recently won the Powerball.

Tell me if I'm wrong. The ingress and egress from Stuttgart AR stinks. Too much agricultural stuff on the road.

I make a trip to Mack's once a year on an annual duck hunt. Simmons in Bastrop is a better store IMO.

Ehh. I've been multiple times while hunting in the area. It's not some impressive superstore. It's just a waterfowl hunting dedicated store that can't be much bigger than a Walgreens with a larger storage building built of the back. The store itself is maybe 6000 sq. feet?

As others have said, Simmons in Bastrop is better.

Its great if you haven't been before. Like others have said, its nothing out of the ordinary, just a normal large size store dedicated to hunting, but the nostalgic part of being one of the first magazines I got as a kid before the internet age is cool.

Flying Duck taproom right next door is great for a few good cold beers as well. I highly recommend.

Haven't been in a few years since Chene opened.

It’s worth checking out just to say you’ve been if you’re in the area, but if you’re looking for a destination hunting store, Simmons is better.

I remember mail in orders to Herters when you had to write the item numbers and sizes on a postcard and mail it back to them with a check.

I got the shammy cloth Mossy Oak Shadow Grass boonie hat, pants and long sleeve button down shirt the first year it was available in the mid 90's. I was cock of the dock, Baw.

30-45 minutes outta your way? Yes, I'd pass by if I was going to be that close and had never been there before. As other's have said, hit RNT and Chene too.

Noticed more of a Bass Pro presence this year over last year.

Could also visit the Waterfowler's Wing at the Arkansas Museum of the Grand Prairie over on Park Avenue.

It’s been years since I have been there but I remember it being a hell of lot bigger than 6000 square feet. The original store was rather small but the current location has to be at least 100,000 square feet under roof.

Overrated store IMO. Simmons is the place to go.

Made about the same detour when coming through in January. It was worth it, IMO. I'd never been. Went there and the Chene store and then needed to hit the road before buying anymore crap.

Simmons is the best pure hunting/shooting store you can go to in the entire region.

Scheel's I've heard is incredible and possibly better, but it's a box chain store and mostly only in the Midwest.

Yeah Scheel’s has a dedicated following from the Midwest folks but they honestly aren’t in the same zip code as Simmons and really neither is Mack’s if you are comparing gun selection as well. Mack’s is a place to go hang out if the college football games suck on the weekend you go hunt in Stuttgart.
