Congrats to Tyler for putting it together and getting a win. It's been fun to watch him get after it.

How he found them is pretty cool. I assume he was fishing for sacalait during the official practice days.

He found them using live scope. Ruining fishing in my opinion.

He should have played it a little slicker instead of being 100% open about the accidental find trying to sacalait fish.
Welcome to a new Era of fishing. Don't even look where you cast.
There were a whole lot of puzzle pieces that fell together for him to even get to fish the elites. Lots of support.
glad to see he got one right after walk ons dropped his sponsorship.
Fish against tyler a bunch. He was always a threat.

Real mean only fish with spears and no boats

So it's ok to use a sonar with a beam that shoots down and to the sides, but you can't use one that shoots forward?

Logan Latuso from Gonzales finished 4th

Yep LA had a good showing. Then in the Hobie BOS tournament on Harris Chain at the same time, a friend from Nola finished 12th and had a big second day. Caught an 8 pounder with minutes to go to finish strong.

I dont do any bass fishing anymore and the only thing I know about Live Scope is what I have read. I do use Garmin side scan when fishing deeper areas of the bay when targeting winter time trout. Correct me if I am wrong, but would traditional side scan not worked in this instance?

That is cool, I worked with his dad for several years recently. Always talked about how well his son was doing.

Tyler Rivet from Raceland, La
I was fishing Lake Fields one day and decided on my way in to fish the Enbrage* Canal. Tyler was in there so I put the trolling motor down and followed behind him. He was throwing a worm and his podna had a frog. I had on a spinner bait and was throwing in front the boat towards the middle of the canal. Ended up hitting a nice lil 3lb Bass right behind them.
Told my son in jest, look at that, I outfished a pro-angler.
Anyway congrats to Tyler, he certainly put in the work. I bought a few baits from him when he had his shop in Lockport.

Tyler in 2nd 4lbs back going into final day at Seminole. Hackney in 3rd 5 lbs back. Derek Hudnall in top 10 so gets a 4th day. 3 LA boys fishing on day 4.

It will be fun to watch tomorrow

Did he put 2oz bell sinkers down their throats?

Hudnall with the early move up to 4th. Rivet and Hackney trailing at the moment with a few hours to go.

"This is what I've dreamed of since I was a kid," Rivet said. "I remember every day at the (Lake Cataouatche) Tank Ponds during the 2011 Bassmaster Classic in New Orleans, hearing boats coming through the fog and seeing all the big names and thinking 'One day, I want to do that.'"
Kevin VanDam won that Classic 10 minutes from the take off spot when everyone was running 100s of miles to Venice and Houma.
I've been out of it so long the only names I recognized was Gerald Swindle, Greg Hackney and Mike Iaconelli..

Rivet never got on them but caught just enough to take 3rd. Hudnall with a great day to move to 5th. Hackney couldn't get on a good bite and moved to 7th.

I don’t follow it at all. But I did meet and talk to Mike Iaconelli at Pickwick last year.
He pulled up in a brand new Tundra Platinum that was like mine (I’d only had mine for a month or so at the time). We talked for quite a while.
We was very liberal with him time and took pics with several people.

That's mainly because of MLF merging both heavy hitters from bass and the flw..some are slowly coming back to bass. But it opened the door to allow for some of these young guys to fish the elites.

Yeah that is what the announcers said.
