Man when I was looking for a jeep to buy to fun around in I can't tell you how many there were that responded "western union money....I'll setup the delivery when I get your address."

It's a good resource too. Not as much traffic on the forum itself, but Devin posts a lot. He's a great fisherman and is always willing to help people.

WPBTiger, voros79 and Passing Wind, thanks for sharing. I've never had any business dealings with anyone from the site so Inhad no idea.

Louisiana Sportsman ???
Example of "obvious scams" cause I've never noticed any.

just check out the classifieds for four wheelers. plenty of 2015-2016 models in there for 1500 bucks. fake email addresses listed. sure wish management would clean up that site. plenty potential.

It has become a shitte hole of a magaizine and web site. I used to enjoy it in its infancy. Also the reporting has went down hill bad. Kill a decent deer or a 4 man limit of Mallards and post it on your FB page and somehow those idiots run you down wanting the story. There is a guy named Tony something that is straight douche bag. I posted a little report last year in Louisiana fishing page on FB and this dude bothered me and my BIL for 2 weeks about it. Then had the nerve to ask my BIL behind my back for a trip so he can make a report. All expenses paid on the magazine. I ran into him at the expo in Lafayette and the MF'ER gonna act like he never heard of me when I confronted him about it. Emails to show him on my phone. And that isn't the first time he also done something similar to a friend of mine in our town over a squirrel hunt with dogs about 2 or 3 years ago.

One of the posters gave me his number and gave me his actual pins on the map for his fishing spots. The rest is trash and the website is a terrible design.

there used to be another site called salty Cajun that was started to provide another option where people could post and talk about fishing but the original people gave up and turned it over to some guys, who as turned out, turned it into a troll site just to harass others for fun and "as far as I know" it has now shut down from lack of funding to stay running

EVERY time I go to LA Sportsman website I get popups telling me I won a prize from Google or Amazon. Classifieds have the old "send deposit I'll deliver the atv later" scam. Like the original poster said, I can't believe that Louisiana is "Sportsman's Paradise" but the sporting magazine we have is owned by some out-of-state d-bag who obviously doesn't give 2 shizzs about how the magazine or website is run. It's prolly just a matter of time before that hack-job fish wrapper is history, hopefully we'll get a magazine that actually appeals to locals and has real ads and no computer viruses.

Devin created a FB group that he monitors pretty well to keep people from posting anything other than decent fishing reports. I don't venture over to his site much since he built the FB group.

A bay boat that is only a few years old being sold for $1,500.00

I always read that as old people not being able to type on a computer. Probably $15,000.

Some people just put random random numbers like $123,456.78 because they are shite bags and shopping the boat for an offer.

Or they could be scams.... Probably scams

There is definitely a market for a LA Sportsman/Salty Cajun/TD OB alternate. I was hoping lafishblog would be the answer but seemed to be mostly centered on east side fishing only (which I appreciate).

ILL say this, in the beginning it was a viable platform with good info and stories. Times have changed and sped up. Now the magazine comes out and the stories are weeks old. We have seen and heard the story of the fish caught and the deer killed long before the mag comes out. We have seen the products and learned about them long before the advertising in the mag. They just do not properly take advantage of the social media/internet speed of information. I see it on the shelf read the cover and see nothing that we didn't already know or read about. The site and forum use to be good as well, even had some constructive arguing that was healthy, now full of guide posts, advertising, scams in the classifieds. Just needs a better direction and or editor in Chief. Haven't consistently been to it in about 4 years. Ill check in from time to time, same ole same ole. They need an overhaul from the top to bottom. It doesn't help that folks like that Tony guy now has a sub par following in the state not to mention anytime you kill a decent buck there is LSM all up in your DM's trying to hound you for the story.

Lafishblog is a great site and has a good group on Facebook for reports. But I agree I wish there was more (any) talk about the west side of the state

La Sportsman website and forums were good until around 2012 or so. Then they went to crap. Every time someone posts a deer pic they'd say "don't see a tag," or a box of fish and someone says "that looks like more than 50 trout for you 2 men." I think the millennials got old enough to use the internet and started tattling like a bunch of kids.

The obvious scams ($2,800 Tacoma with 50,000 miles in perfect condition, or the $1,200 Polaris Rangers).

I have purchased several used guns from there in the past though, and sold a boat through there.

Whenever duck dynasty started, that's when the sportsman went to shite.
