Lost Boat Papers

My brother lost all of our papers to our bass boat when he moved. We lost the bill of sale, title, boat registration, and trailer registration. What is the easiest way to replace these items?

There's only one way, and it's not easy. Office of motor vehicles will have copies of title and registration for the trailer. There will be fees associated, of course. Whomever was listed on the title will need to go to an OMV and request the info.
Dept of Wildlife will have info on boat registration. Again, more fees. Not sure if you'll have to go to an office or if you can call them to request new copies. Contact info for LDWF:
As for the bill of sale, you're probably S.O.L. unless you still have contact info for who you bought it from and they still have a copy.

if you bought it new, the manufacturer will have a copy of the statement of origin. You can use that if you go to sell it in lieu of title

This is true also but since he said "bill of sale" I figured he was talking about a used boat.

Unless you want to sell it you don't need it. I don't have my title but once it's been registered you can just keep renewing online.

Thanks for the detailed information. I guess I will be spending my day off next week at both places.
