I want to plant approximately 20 purple & yellow trees along both sides of my property line but I can't find a yellow crepe myrtle tree. Ideally I would go with crepe myrtles but the absence of a yellow one rules that out.

What are some other options that come in both yellow and a deep purple?

sounds like a very cool plan....but I can't say I can think of any trees with yellow flowers either.

Not trees but you can get purple and yellow pampas grass.

Probably good not to go with crepe myrtles. Supposedly there is a disease that is making its way through the south which will eliminate crepes unless expensive routine treatment is used.

I thought about pampas grass but I've heard snakes like to hang out in that stuff. I would plant crimson-colored red crepe myrtles around my yard before I put something in my yard that attracts snakes

I saw the jacarandas but they grow to 60' wide. I don't want anything that large. I'd prefer no more than 20' tall and 20' wide.

I'd go for bushes too, if anyone knows of any.

Best bet is to check with the LSU AgCenter and tell them what you are looking for.

Wouldn't surprise me if some super LSU fan over there bred something like this. Lmao!

There are some yellow trump plants, we have some that get around 5' tall but die off every winter with freezes.

Here they are on the left and bloom from last spring through fall

This. Plus crepe Myrtles are messy messy. Grandparents have them down their driveway and I have 2 next to mine.

The second you finish sweeping away all the mess they drop, you turn around and there's more.

Never ending cycle.

Yellow Forsythia and Loropetalum would be nice shrubs that will grow large.

Shoal creek vitex trees with lemon drift roses surrounding trunk. You're welcome.

This would look awesome, not sure if they bloom at the same time but both of these have extravagant blooms when properly cared for.

Do these grow well here in South Louisiana? I can't say I've ever seen one. Where would I buy?

Alright, maybe this needs to be an offshoot question but what makes a plant or tree attractive to snakes. I've never heard that about pampas grass but I have heard that snakes like it under palmetto plants.

I have no idea but I've always heard that snakes can usually be found hiding on the ground beneath pampas grass. I have no clue how true it is though

I live everyone's suggestions so far. Please keep them coming. I'm still researching plants and as y'all suggest them, I'm researching. I hope to post pics in about a year showing off my purple and gold landscape!!
