Looking to get a riding mower and thinking I might gkneith a zero turn. Been looking st the hustler raptor. Anyone have any feed back on them? I don’t have a huge yard, so I was thinking about just getting a lawn tractor but I like the idea of a zero turn more

Do you have to fit through a gate? If not go bigger than 42.

I have had one for 4 years and love it. Zero problems with it.

I don’t have to worry about a gate for now... my yard isn’t fenced in. I do plan to do a fence at some point but I can make sure I make the gate big enough to get though.

There is a significant difference in quality between the hustler raptor and raptor sd. If I bought Hustler I would not buy the base model raptor.

What’s the main difference between the 2? Looks like the basic raptor runs around 2800... how much more is the Sd?

ETA: just saw it was about 1k more..

Look at the pumps/trans and engines. For a normal home owner you don't need the more commercial grade features.

When you say big yard, how big?

Eta, you said not huge

You might even look at a walk behind with a sulky and used. There are usually lots of them.

SD is about $1000 more.
Heavier duty frame
Heavier duty deck
Heavier duty spindles
Seat upgrade
Servicable ZT2800 Hyrdos vs EZT's
Larger tires
Foot assist deck lift
Standard hour meter
Better warranty

Just buy the Reg Raptor, it'll be enough!

That’s what I’m thinking.. it shouldn’t take me more than 30 minutes or so to get everything cut

Any reason to look at other brands or is Hustler the way to go?

I have an exmark 48 commercial walk behind. 3/4 acres, but lots of pine straw. Takes me an hour to cut, edge(I have a lot) trim and blow. 40 minutes to just cut and blow.

If u like the Hustler and you have a good local dealer, then get the Hustler. BTW, 'Raptor Season' started today so all Hustler Raptors are $200 off! Runs though April 16th I believe!

I went to buy a Hustler last year and drove away with a Gravely ZTX 42". Don't remember the prices or details at this point, but 4H equipment made it a no brainer for me.

I have a commercial Tiger Cat from Scag... have no complaints. Runs like a top, solid build and locally serviced. My old man has a hustler that he has used for a decade - he likes it. If I had it to do over again? I am buyin the Tiger Cat again.

TigerCat is awesome be he doesn't need anything near that big for his place. He could look at Scag Liberty Z but that may be a lot for his place.

I have a raptor limited 52. I like it pretty well. Rattles a little and beats the hell outta me on bumpy portions of my yard. But I'm pretty sure that's what you get for 3k

Eta- limited gives you upgraded seat with armrest, wider tires, engine shield, hourmeter
