Looking to buy a home defense rifle

Any opinions on what to purchase? I've been looking online getting some ideas and I wanted to get some feedback from the outdoor board on what ya'll recommend.

If you want to keep it under 1K. I would get a suppressor and use Underwood 194 GR Subsonic for home defense.

you dont buy a rifle for "home defense"
you buy a shotgun for that or you get a pistol that women can operate easily and load hollow points in it

For the right person, shotguns are fine. Rifles hold more ammo, are easier to reload, easier to shoot accurate, extremely lethal, and penetrate walls less than shotguns. Plus you will want to practice with a rifles, shotguns will beat up your shoulder shooting all day. Pistols are hard to shoot accurate compared to rifles and have less capacity. Pistols are also less lethal than rifles.

The fact that you call it a clip tells me everything I need to know about your knowledge on guns you fudd.
I guess you are right though. In every post defensive shooting interview, the victim always says they wish they had less rounds
