ive seen one a friend of mines neighbor had. Dog had lots of drive. Seemed super friendly and was very pretty. I was planning to look into getting one for my next bird dog. Always have had labs.

I do not really like the uppity arse people though. And it sounds like I would be dealing would that.

For a all day, brush busting, hard hunting dog, they are not in the same league as the traditional bird dog breeds.

It's really not uppity. It's insanely protective.

Oh, and as a hunter, mine would have rather played grab-arse with the other dog than hunt.

I didn't realize they were marketed as bird dogs

Yep, and considered a versatile breed same as a GSP, for both wing and fur...

The way I ended up meeting this lady with one was because we had just finished a teal hunt and I had the ducks on the truck outside. She let her dog out down the street and it smelled them and came running. She said she never took it hunting.
It was a pretty dog.

Anyone know what the going rate is? I paid 1200 for my mastiff and he is absolutely worthless. Id pay a little for a good dog.
My labs i havent paid over 150 for though.

I think I paid $1,000. That was in 1994 dollars though.

Closest breeder is in Houston or Alabama. Picking mine up next Friday. Can't wait.
The breeders are very selective though, and will interview you. If they don't, then you may be dealing with a puppy mill.

Breeder in Lafayette area too, but only has a litter every few years. Her dogs are all about the trials.

I have learned that most bird dogs with lots of drive are more concerned with finding live birds than retrieving dead ones. That is not to say that they won't retrieve, but they would rather be running than sitting...

Sounds like I need to buy a male and a bitch.

Nothing like interviewing people to buy a dog. That shite could be fun.

I have been interviewed when I was looking at a horse though. Guess that is similar

70 percent of the birds i shoot arent dead when they hit the water anyway. I honestly need a dog that wants to run through marsh grass chasing a crippled gadwall. My black lab is great at but getting old and doesnt get around as good as she used too. Ive seen her go under floaton (sp?) to get one though.

I saw one of the finest girls I have ever laid eyes on running around the lakes with a Visla today. Almost wrecked into another car while I was checking her out. My thoughts on Vislas.... to the guy who invented yoga pants

I was gonna try and get a creepy meauxjeaux shot of her but I had other bidness to take care of
