It is tough to beat the Kahr single stacks for carry. The CW9 and CM9 are small, inexpensive and shoot great.

I have the PM9 and could'nt agree more. Price for mine was $600+ So if thats a little high for you check out the Bersa's, wife has that, Keltec, and Ruger. 9mm is plenty of punch for a small pocket carry pistol. I used to carry a glock 26 40 cal as my backup on my ankle beacuse it was issued and didn't have a choice but also bought the Kahr PM9 that I kept in my vest. Much easier to carry concealed especially in plain clothes.

Kahr CM9. I've owned it for about a year and have shot it between 4-5k times. It runs like a top and I trust my life to it.

It can be had on buds for about 400. Highly recommended.

Micro 1911's w/ 3" barrel are small, but most are not very light. I'll defer to King Ranch or someone else for an evaluation of these guns.

as for the weight, most 3'' 1911's have alloy frames and are quite light relative to full size 1911 platform. the 3'' will weight something about 22-25oz with aluminum frame. the full size will weigh in at over 2lbs easily and probably close to 40oz.

KR,
Thanks for the clarification. My all steel 3.5" barreled 1911 runs bout 32 oz unloaded. I didn't word it well, but what I meant was that steel framed micro 1911's are not very light; I figured there are some alloy micro 1911's, but wasn't sure the specific models. I get really confused w/ the long list of "different" models of 1911's available, especially from Kimber.

I'll second the kahr cm9.

That was my first gun purchase ever and man has it been nice. Have taught my daughter to shoot with it.

I don't have cc yet but carry it everywhere with me in the car.

Mine finally got here. Took about 6 weeks. Haven't got to shoot it yet , but shot my buddy's. surprisingly easy to shoot and no more recoil than normal.

Most experienced shooters are surprised that the recoil isn't all that bad from such a small gun. The bore axis is very low so felt recoil isn't nearly as bad as something like a Keltec Pf9.

I bet yours will shoot even better. I know when I spend my money on a gun it always shoots a bit better.

After the introduction of the Xds, I am left wondering: why are there any other CC pistols?

KR, beautiful 1911, as usual. I just don't care for mini 1911s for carry. Just have a bad taste in my mouth from a few.

What most people don't realize is that Springfield and S&W were actually late to the subcompact 9mm/40/45 single-stack party. Kahr has been making single-stack carry pistols for much longer than those companies have. Granted, I think the XDs and Shield are great carry guns, they aren't the only good ones. This CM9 is my lifeline and I trust it.

Can you guys help with where to purchase these OTC in Baton Rouge? I've got ways to order, but I want to hold a few first, as I've got big hands and some of the little guys are prone to pinching when I'm firing. Wondering aloud how many of the different models are at Precision where I could fire before I buy.

Haha yeah I know that Springfield is nothing new. They sat back and waited for everyone else to test the water first. I'm just here to stir some shite up.

Walther PPK, 9×19mm Parabellum, with a delivery like a brick through a plate-glass window. The American CIA swear by them.

You may not want to purchase there, but if you just want to hold some, go to Jim's Firearms off Siegan. They have a big selection, but their prices kind of suck. I usually go there to hold them and then buy them online.

The recoil is surprisingly light. I started out looking to get the P380, but the CM9 was just too much more weapon with very little in increased weight.

I had a video up here awhile back of my daughter shooting the 9. It is a very manageable weapon.
