It needs to be rear wheel drive and have metal wheels. Don't want anything too heavy because I have to manhandle it at times.

The John Deere I have has plastic wheels and the stress from cutting the bayouside behind my house has caused 3 to break at the hub.

Budget $300-$400 but not against spending more for something quality that will last forever.

Siggeations?

shite I respect the hell out of a man shopping for what he really needs, and not the ZTR his neighbor has.

I can't help you. I have a Honda man-powered push mower that was damn near $400. It's badass, and it's a man killer cutting a steep ditch.

I've owned a Snapper 21" self propelled going on 20 years now. Occasional drive part and blade replacement and that's it. My yard takes about 45 minutes to cut. Follow the instructions and DONT wash it after cutting. Couldn't be more pleased. They're hard to kill.

I don't know what kind of wheels my Honda has but it's a sweet mower that should be in your price range.

My current mower is lists as 110lbs on its spec sheet. The smallest self propelled Honda come in at 71lbs. I'm thinking that 40lbs less might save the wheels.

Also, it looks like almost all push mowers have plastic wheels except for the top of the line Hondas that have Nexite wheels which I guess is some sort of super plastic. (But out of my weight and price range).

Honda was my first choice and is leading the pack.

That's looks like the one. The most stripped down self-propelled version doesn't have a folding handle bar (which I also need) and has a top speed of 2.5mph which is kind of slow. The one you listed is the next step up. Will pick one up this weekend.

Because I've tried front wheel drive and it didn't handle the bayouside behind my house well. You're just going up the hill pushing at a weird angle.

Rear wheel drive works better, that's why. Didn't we lawnmower shame you about this like a year ago?

But it doesn't.

You tried, and like pretty much every argument on here, you lost.

Nope, I believe everyone argued against FWD mowers because of the weight distribution from start to finish. They just don't work

I have one that's about 12 years old. Sometimes I have to make double passes if the grass is damp, even with a new or sharpened blade. That's annoying. I plan to get a Honda for my next mower, but this damn thing won't die. It still starts first pull every time.

Those people must have never actually used one because that is not an issue at all.
