Anyone have any dealings with an outfitter in Arkansas? A group of 6-8 of us are wanting to go on a 3 or 4 day trip. Hunting lodge is preferred with the trip. We like cooking our own meals, etc. Just want a place that has good duck hunting and is nice to stay.

Go to Missouri. If you’re willing to stay three or four days you ought to be willing to drive 4/5 extra hours for a better chance of killing ducks

It was a struggle all year in Arky baw... The geese were there all season but the ducks never really showed up in big numbers

A lot better states to duck hunt these days than Arky. Head west.

Friend of mine has what has always been a really good place to hunt in AR.

A flooded timber hole and a pit in a field. The timber is normally a place that they kill 2-4 limits a day.
This past season, around the middle of Jan my buddy had killed 1 duck.

1 single duck and that's hunting 2-3 times a week. Total this year in that hole I think they killed a total of 40 something ducks.

That's it.

Arkansas sucked this year.

Not all of it, of course. But, for the majority of duck hunters few felt they got their money's worth this year.

I can recommend Finish Line Outdoors in Frederick, Ok and Tornado Alley in Emporia, Ks.
Finish Line does Sandhill cranes, Canada geese (mostly lesser) and ducks. Pintails in Ok are just plain stupid apparently.
Tornado Alley does Canada geese (mostly the greater) and ducks.

The last 2 years have been tough in Arky. No water in 17’, and no real migration this past season. Next year may be lights out, but who knows. If it were me, I would look at Oklahoma. Missouri can be good, but I know a lot of folks struggled just as much as Arky this year.

A nice video of Arkansas duck hunting

I don’t quite understand the argument they are trying to make but it’s a good video.

Slick McCulloms outside Stuttgart is probably one of the most reputable I know of. If they don’t have birds they will let you know. Can’t ask more than that. I second Oklahoma however. Perhaps farther north would be a smarter choice as well. Take the weather and timing if the migration out of your worry list. That will be an expensive trip and you need to eliminate as many variables as you can. Ramsey Russell is the best in the business. I would go through him.
