Looking for 2 suppressed deer rifles...one for a 7yr old, one for a 10yr old.

What should I get them, and where should I look to buy them?

Ruger Americans are tough to beat for the combo of price and factory accuracy. They come with the threaded barrel and you can get the gen 2 which has the stock you can shorten for young kids to shoot and then as they grow put the piece back in your make it back to normal length. As far as caliber there’s so many choices, especially since you will have it surpressed, and the fact they make reduced recoil ammo now. The classics are .243, .308, but there’s a lot of other options and newer calibers that perform.

I have a Ruger American gen 2 in 300 bo.
Be a great deer rifle suppressed or not.
Very accurate and super quiet w subsonic.
A hoot to shoot and very fairly priced.

You won’t buy any gun that comes suppressed already, that’s a separate purchase. Hard to beat a CVA cascade right now for the features they come with for the price. 7mm-08 btw

Ruger American is a good option. Savage is coming out with some attractive 110 options as well. Both have adjustable length of pulls and are very affordable and accurate. I think the new updated 110 savages only recently started shipping so it may take time to get your hands on one if you go that route.

You’ll get a bunch of different recommendations for caliber. If it were me, I’d likely find something in 7mm-08, .308, or 6.5 creedmoor.

I’d also shoot for a 16” barrel. Velocity will suffer, but the convenience of having a suppressed rifle that doesn’t have a 28-29” effective barrel length is worth it IMO.

I bought my wife a Savage 7mm-08 to shoot whenever she decides she wants to climb into the stand.

I find myself hunting with it now more than she does. I LOVE that gun.

I have a Ruger American in .243. Great rifle for the money. The .243 does not kick much and can kill any whitetail in the US.

If you want a nice hunting suppressor I’d suggest the new Banish HNT 30 SS. It’s only 5” and costs just under $500. I’ve been trying to get one but they keep selling out on silencer shop.lol
