Looking at trout/redfish options between Houston and Thibodeaux for June 28th

Picking a kid up from camp on the 29th at 11:30am in Thibodeaux. Guy Im going with gets into Houston in the evening on the 27th. What's our best option? Lake Charles? I guess we could drive there and get in late Friday and then fish a half day then drive to Thibodeaux.

Plenty of charters running out of Cocodrie. South of Thibodeaux about an hour drive.

Rent a place on grand isle and surf fish Elmer’s island, diy and save some $.

Have him fly into Lafayette, drive to Cocodrie pick up a charter, drive back up to thibodeaux in time to pick up the kiddos!

More of a drive for you than your buddy, but I’d seriously consider fishing Sabine Lake. Would go there over Big Lake for sure.
