I have been seeing quite a few lizards around the house the last few weeks. Apparently they are feasting pretty well on mosquitos or whatever bugs they eat. Question is: what is feasting on them? I'd say 75% of them have stubby tails. Is it other lizards? Starlings? The heat maybe? Or is my weenie dog tearing their arses up when no one is looking?

I have a ton of lizards on my porches and windows every night. And no spiders at all.

Can't help you with your question, but be glad they live through it.

Probably birds. I know some larger birds eat lizards. My cats will mess them up pretty good sometimes. They don’t usually eat them, though. They are just being murder cats.

Likely geckos which easily lose their tails when being attacked as a defense mechanism. They grow a new one.

They make their living feasting on moths, roaches, beetles, crickets, hoppers, etc.

I ive in BR and have about an equal number of anoles, skinks and geckos (lizards to most). They vanish if I put out any kind of insecticide, but have nice, long, healthy, tails,

I miss the mass of geckos we had at our old house. They ate the hell out of some bugs.

That is tree frogs doing that. Just turn off lights on the house to fix that problem.

Skinks, lizards and tree frogs will keep all outside bugs in check if you do not spray.

Our dach eats them and swells, then doesn't mess with them for a day or so. Then all over again....

It's probably a combination of things getting their tails. Anything from birds, cats, to each other.

green and brown anoles - What we always called lizards.

Have geckos too, but only see them at night.

Don't see cats in the neighborhood much. Do see plenty cottontails tho.
