Calcasieu parish will soon follow, my boat has been lifted twice today and a buddy will be checking on it before night fall.
Water is over the dock at Spicers.

Strong easterly winds are pushing water into the lakes.

My friend lifted my boat a second time this morning and sent a video of how high the water has come over the bulkhead at Tickfaw.

Hurricanes rotate counter clockwise when north of the equator. That creates a strong East wind on the North side of the hurricane.

A strong East wind always holds the water in the rivers from flowing into Lake Maurepas. When that happens, river levels rise.

Wind from the storm is blowing in water and raising the rivers out of their banks
