Haven't bought the kit. I am a rookie when it comes to working on cars. Have a buddy who thinks he could do it but with all of the professional mechanics hesitating, I'm scared to give my buddy a shot

Dont look for a dealership to help. they usually sub out all lift kits. as for others, if they have never done it, and its not something that is normal, they will all be hesitant. The bigger problem Id look at is why only two companies (as far as I can see) make a kit. whats the underlying issue?

Thanks, Dave. I'll let everyone know what they say

I must say, leveled Grand Cherokees are sexy as hell.
If i didnt use a truck, that'd be my next ride.
You putting new wheels/tires on it?

The issue I've been told is with the new models the suspension kits and computers make it very difficult. From what I understand the computers in the jeep, if not done correctly will think I'm on an incline or something is out of whack and adjust accordingly and it will effect the rise of the car and or could create even more problems

I like the rims I have now but defiantly plan on putting some all terrains on it. Holding off on it though because I don't wanna buy new tires and then find out I can level it and need to get bigger tires for aesthetics and performance. Ha which is another reason I'm trying to get this leveling kit ordeal situated
ETA: I love the car. Ha but be ready for incredibly low mpg. But I guess that just comes with the territory of Jeep. Haha can't imagine what mpg I'll get after a level and all terrains

I had an 04 V8 with 2" front spacers and 32" BFGs. It was a blast to drive, but electrical problems ended up being too much of a burden so I sold it to some poor soul.

I can't imagine that the DIY install is very difficult if you have an afternoon to spare.
Side note, my wife's 12 GC is already a big enough POS that I wouldn't change out anything to put more strain on anything because it can hardly handle OEM

I feel ya. My wife has a '13 GC and I hate it. She loves it and may want another when it's time for a new car. It's a nice vehicle, just much smaller than what I wanted to get and the electonic steering feels very odd to me. Only way I'll ride in it is if I'm drunk and don't have a choice.

I say that because I've installed 3 or 4 on the older body style. Sure it's a PITA, but it's certainly manageable if you have any level of experience with a wrench.

I worked at searches 06-07. Even with the right tools, access to a lift, and knowledge and experience available they were a huge pain in the arse and more time consuming than the others.

Is this you?

If you have the Quadra-lift airbag suspension, unfortunately nothing can be done to level or to lift your vehicle, sorry :^(

No. I I don't think I have that feature

You have obviously not seen how difficult some new suspension designs can be.

What makes it difficult, electronics?

Yes. There is sensors everywhere including gyros which affect the stature of your vehicle. It can be bypassed but it is not meant to be.
