yep gonna do it tomorrow . Maverick Charter. The last couple weeks boats do a couple marlin, 4-5 sailfish and 5-6 tuna according to their Facebook webpage. It's been 40 years since I last caught sailfish off the coast of Saudi Arabia and I am still up to it. Got a group of ten relatives and friends going with two boats chartered.

Which Maverick boats? I’ve fished with them 3 times.

Look around while you are there and see what property is going for.

If y’all get some down time you should take the fam on one of the saltwater crocodile tours. Fishing and seeing the 20 plus foot crocs were the coolest things we did there. Also eating at el pelicano was pretty good.

Edit: If you catch some tuna, Bambu will cook it for you

Damn I checked their website and looks like first class outfit.. It's on my bucket list. Been to Argentina for doves a few years back and Costa Rico sailfish is probably my next adventure. I also hear there's more to do than fishing to keep you busy over there

Only did roosters down there (Quepos), but will definitely be back soon for billfish.

Just stopping at the Tarcoles river and looking from the bridge is cool. Tons of bigguns.

Got back last night from fishing trip and our boat the Open Fly, brought in two- 300# est. marlin, five sailfish and one 30# mahi. Fishing party was me, two 45 year old guys and their wives. Left the dock at 730 for a 45 minute run, baits in water till about 330. 50 foot boat well airconditioned, seas were calm. Crew provided beer/drinks, nachos at 1100, hamburgers for lunch, fresh fruit tray for the run home.

The two deck crew worked their butts off keeping lines baited, lines straight which was a critical skill with 4 teasers and 4 baits behind the boat and clearing the deck when fish on. Conservation requirement that billfish not be lifted into the boat but rather photographed in the water means that lots of action will continue to be available in the future. Deck crewman filleted the mahi , which we used to feed 10 persons that night.

Costs. Boat charter was 3700 dollars all in, except for captain and deck crew tip of 20 per cent. Smaller boats at several towns south of Los Suenos can be chartered for substantially less. We rented a condo from a Houston based owner, but you can stay in a Hyatt $$$$ or a hostel $. Son sez best time of month is new moon, we were at the end of the rainy season and a week or two after a couple of world class billfish tournaments.

trip of a life time, I will try to get pictures on later this week

This is one of the many many reasons they are the best in CR.
