While the carcass exportation and enhanced surveillance components of the proposed rule extend to the entire control area, the NOI proposes a smaller area of approximately 15-mile radius from any CWD positive case where supplemental feeding or baiting is prohibited.

Supplemental feeding and baiting outside of the 15-mile boundary outward to the control area boundary would be allowed through mechanical broadcast from non-stationary implements.

One of the commission folks must have had a lease in-between the 15 and 25 mile radius.. Can still feed, just not pile it up

I don’t have any work to prove, what he is saying is as long as the CWD is around and people are making a fuss about it. The departments studying it keep there job and get all kind of grant money etc.
Look at Covid for example. Doctors offices were getting paid for every positive Covid test.

EXACLTY!! That is exactly my point. The ole adage of not letting a good crisis go to waste. Not only will the funding continue, but this will also motivate the mindless bureaucrats that have never stepped foot in the woods to vote against your rights.

you need to go read up on articles from James Kroll

Kroll is a con man shill for the high fence/captive deer hunting contingent.

Yes, because it would be so financially beneficial for him if all the deer died off. Dumbass.

The release says nothing about banning food plots the article does

The release is what they decided on. That doesn’t mean they didn’t consider broader measures.

The writer, along with the OP worded things to stir up outrage… which worked considering the discussion going on here.

You said it was an April fools joke. Are you still trying to argue that because they didn’t end up banning food plots?

It was shoddy enough journalism to be called April fools by including the line about banning food plots which was never discussed or on the table.

Enough falsehoods to be considered an April fools.

On another note if corn piles spread cwd does Texas have a CWD problem

You’re reaching, but I agree with you there.

The 15.8 million miles of high fence probably screw it up a little bit but as far as i know, yes they do.

I don't see anything in there about deer pens which is where this shite came from. They need to ban the transport of live deer.

Deer pens are agricultural department.. not ldwf. Seems crazy but they’re considered livestock.

I can assure you with 100% certainty they did not consider food plots.

Licking branches

I wish folks would stop using this argument. Water holes…if small enough, yes.

Put a trail camera on a licking branch and see how many deer use it as compared to the number that will stick their heads in a pile of rice bran that’s continued to be poured out over a period of 4 months.

That's just like, your opinion man.
CWD has been in this country for decades

The states with the most CWD don’t allow baiting

Neither are opinions, man

I don’t know how it’s possible but it seems alof of people don’t realize CWD is rampant out west and in the Midwest and has been for 40 plus years….

I don’t care one iota if they make baiting illegal. But how can people possibly think it matters considering the CWD spread in places without baiting?

One of many examples

quote:

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has detected CWD in 40 out of 54 deer herds and 17 out of 42 elk herds. CWD has also been detected in 2 of 9 moose herds.

quote:

No, Colorado prohibits baiting, including using corn or other feed to attract deer or other big game animals, as it is illegal to feed or bait wildlife in the state
