Probably 85%. But what does that have to do with our current governor and why should I like him? What is your point?

Every dollar that can be cut from every agency has been cut. What two sectors make up the majority of this pie chart?

quote:

change to state constitution so other things can be cut
Any agency can be cut. But as you can see, you could totally eliminate three agencies and not come up with what the state needed to cut.

quote:

What's the incentive for the oil companies to continue to participate in a program that the state uses as its slush fund to prop up community colleges and methadone clinics?
I don't think it's voluntary Not saying it's right or wrong... but we're only a handful of states to balance our budget AND add jobs during this recession...so big picture...I'm not bitching if the man wants to raid pennies to put it elsewhere.

I'm just responding to your comment.

So based on your logic you like 15% of "dickbags" as you call them.

You are twisting words. I said I hate 85%, not that I liked 15%. I can take or leave a certain amount of dickbags. Otherwise I get heartburn.

You must be in politics.

And it's not logic.

The man had to cut hundreds of millions from the budget, you know, b/c LA has a balanced budget amendment (thankgod), and every time I ask someone that bitches about the spending cuts from education and health, I ask them, OK... 'where did you want him to get the money from?'

See above. Don't piss on my back...

Not exactly.

Well it appears Jindal is in your 85% that you hate. Care to share why?

What reason again? You never pointed one out.
The reason is LA had budget crunches when they passsed the LA state income tax law (the name escapes me) and they needed 'just a little more revenue to balance the budget'

I have a feeling you're the kind of guy that is just not gonna be happy with any politician and that's OK. They have to govern and make decisions every day and there's people that sit on the sideline and just bitch about everything just to bitch b/c thy have a miserable life and they want to blame someone. Politics suck. Period. But it's a necessary evil you can either live with or hate life about. Been that way since 1776 and it'll be that way in 2076.

Pretty much.

I have a pretty great life and am more involved with the system than most. I show up at LDWF meetings. I pitch in a little bit at least. And while it is a necessary evil, I don't have to agree with the practice of padding revenue bills that earmark funds only to see the original outlays stripped and put back in the general fund. It's dirty pool and I can't abide.

You never questioned 3 other people saying they hate Jindal because he's a politician. Go to the first page.

Fair enough. I have some bad news for you. It happens every. single. day.

That's why my motto in the financial end of poiltics is...I really don't give two shits what they spend my money on...but by God you better have a balanced budget.

That's why our country is so god awful upside down financially, politicians have an unsatiable appetite to spend my hard earned money. And if they don't have a budget to operate in they just need a little more every time. See California. See America. They can never get enough, and that's all of 'em.

It's not news to me. But I don't like the news either.
