If I can get my new trolling motor installed I may run up to toledo to catch some of the open action, but will probably stay home and finish working around the house. I may find a place to fish locally on Sunday.

Same to you, baw!
Janky, my cousin and one of his buddies have been tearing up the bass at the bend for the last few days.

My dad was there last week and caught some hammers. I’m ready to retire.

One of my clients went spend a couple of hours with Jason Courville last week. He got him all fixed up with his eclectronics and showed him how to use them. He is going back next week to do more of a how to on finding the fish.
This guy never used his electronics, in fact the clear film was still on the screen when Jason got in his boat. The next day went he look at areas he catches fish in shallow water and was amazed at what he saw. He told me, “man now I know why I caught in certain spots. One was a small hump and another was a roadbed that I didn’t even know was down there.”

All I need to do is win the powerball. My plan is fool proof.

If I ever start fishing bigger reservoirs like TB a lot more frequently, I will definitely need to learn how to use my electronics better. I have the general stuff down, but I don’t really ever spend a whole lot of time with them in the areas I fish most often.

I have a very simplified fish/depth finder, the Hook4x Elite. and honestly, the only thing I know how to read on there is the depth and water temp. I can never seem to get the sensitivity settings correct to read the contours of the bottom and what not. I plan to get better at using it this year. I've watched a few how to videos on it recently, but I need to be in the water to adjust the settings, and by the time I'm on the water, I don't wanna mess with that, I wanna fish

I have a question. I was just watching a new tactical bassin video, and they mentioned using gold blades on bladed baits in stain water, and that silver is for more clear waters. It makes sense in theory, but ive been told by a few people in the past year to never buy a spinnerbait with gold blades. Seems to me, around here, theres more stained and muddy water than "clear". People should absolutely love gold blades. What are yalls thoughts on the subject?

went to Henderson yesterday and got in before the crowds started and back to take out by 10:30 or so...
two tournaments yesterday with a mass of people "just fishing" cuz the bream are on right now...
finished catching 15 nice bass (all released) kinda slow after the morning bite finished...
monster cypress trout took my battle scarred red eye Sexy Ghost Minnow...*sniff*
the show at the landing waiting to take out had me shaking my head...there are some people that really need to learn landing etiquette...

Anyone know if the ponds at the Broussard sports complex have been stocked? Looking for some new bank fishing in the area.

I’ll have to give it shot. Was getting chased around by some brothers at Fabacher field. They were pissed I was throwing every fish back. Then I hooked a big catfish and one guy ran up to me with his bucket begging for it.

I have personally set some bass free in there.
ETA: One of my coworkers said he knows a guy that has been throwing some bass in there too. I can tell you this much. There's plenty of small green sunfish in there for them to eat. Cause that's all I can seem to catch.

You catch fish in there? That place looks shallow.
re: Lafayette Area Fishing (Public Launches, Bayous, and Lakes)Posted by NewIberiaHaircut on 9/10/18 at 2:01 pm to Janky
Yeah, it’s really shallow right now and the front of the pond is full of grass at the moment but I catch there all the time. It’s close so when I have a free hour or so I’ll go make some casts and practice new baits/techniques. I’ve been practicing my frog fishing with all the grass in there.
re: Lafayette Area Fishing (Public Launches, Bayous, and Lakes)Posted by Janky on 9/10/18 at 2:02 pm to NewIberiaHaircut
Cool. It is close for me as well. I may have to go check it out.
