Trust me I agree with you. I was only stating that I'm way younger than you, because you said youve seen 8 in 35 years. It may have been an exaggeration but for an Outdoorsman, that's not many.

Chicken snakes are usually given a pass around here. I love not having mice. There's one that is (I guess) between 5 and 6 feet long. Pic to come shortly

Any snakes killed must be posted with a pic, or it will be declared a water/brown snake.

FWIW, I don't even have a degree on this shite. Just live in a snaky part of the world, and spend a lot of time in woods and water.

Sounds like my resume.

I did kill one like this thinking it was a moccasin. I felt bad about it when I got close enough to see its eyes and underbelly coloration.

Damn blue racer.

It didnt rattle, but it sure did hold its ground and stared me down. So I thought it was being a territorial moccasin and killed it with a stick.

Off to photobucket. I didn't plan on putting this much effort into this :sigh:

Thread derail:

Anyone ever hear Bill Engvall's routine about the Hollywood Chapter of the Boy Scouts? Talks about the ghey Den Master telling them about the 'pink rattlesnakes' they might see on their camping trip.

"Hith, hith".

His fault. He should have ran and you wouldn't have whacked it.

FYI...there's an edit feature on photobucket, and an easy resize feature. It even has a size called friggin message board!

I can't tell how long that snake is, but I wouldn't wanna be "Eddie".

He dead.

My dad leaned on that bed while the snake was on it before he saw it. That was some funny shite when he figured out what was rubbing on his elbow

Rat(chicken) snakes are really cool. The loaf of bread shape and smooth scales. Too bad they like to bite so much.

Pretty much. No small animal should charge at a man with a stick. Unless it is a honey badger.

Sorry about Eddie, but if I was your dad in that situation, I would've been like Eddie too.

I guess a more adventurous man could have put it on the floor to get an accurate length measurement, but I wasn't touching that damn thing. He's lucky he's doing me a favor otherwise I woulda offed his arse

He almost killed himself running through the closed door at the end of the bunk room

I was in another room. I thought he got bit in the face by a cottonmouth or something. It was quite hilarious. Glad it was him and not me.
