Get on line and start researching. Look for public areas. You can kill a nice Buck on public out there. Have done so myself.

Hit up OnX and go out this summer and visit land owners. I’ve had success simply walking up and introducing myself to folks. I always offered to pay a trespass fee to hunt.

Do you have a place to go? Bring horns and a grunt call.

Find a trail, get in a tree, it won't take long....

Honestly, I hunted Kansas a few years ago for free. I had 320 acres and they all held huge deer. I went to the local McDonalds where the old men hung out and made sure to sit by them while they talked. This was in Sept on a pre scout of some public.

I asked if they minded me sitting around them, then the conversation started. They hate deer up there and will freely give rights to hunt. Just be ready to shoot a doe.

Some farmers that lease the land control the hunting rights, some don't. If you are halfway personable and can make people laugh respectfully and play up the whole Louisiana persona (Duck Dynasty, Gators, etc...) Then you will have plenty of ground

This part is easy since I grew up working on an alligator farm. Lol

We are doing public land, but that is a good idea.

For public, go a week earlier than everyone else.

We’ve been going for years now, the walk in and public places have gotten more and more crowded every year. Do your best to get away from the people and hunting pressure is the best advice I can give you. When we first went up there you could easily get permission from farmers to hunt, but now that’s a different story. People are paying them big money to lease it, or their kids and grandkids are all hunting now. Hunting has gotten so popular on YouTube and social media it does make it harder to find places that no one is hunting. Good luck the rut and Kansas can be special if you time it right and get away from pressured deer!

Where are you making camp? What time are you going?

My group has killed 5 bucks out of 1 tree and 4 out of another over a 5 year period.

Like others have said. Getting more crowded each year

Not sure what that means….
1. Not a louisiana guy
2. Not a lil feller
3. You dont shoot 140”+ deer with a bow on public land???

The guy asked for help. Some are willing to give it…..others want to be a prick and post to deter or try to say how awesome of a hunter they are behind a keyboard.

Ill put my out of state public land bow kills up against anyone. Its not a brag or chest beater. Just trying to help a fellow outdoorsman out.

We always made camp in concordia.
Mainly deer hunted in republic, cloud, and washington.

Turkey hunted from concordia all the way to the MO state line and into NE, IA, and MO. So if you want some info let me know. Its been a couple years because ive hunted CO the last couple years
