Killed my largest bow buck in December during our rut and it was 75 degrees. Much like us they’ll get it in no matter the conditions

In that case, how often do you see chasing the first 2 weeks of November?

Does come into estrus regardless of temperature.
Imagine if you could only get a piece of azz in a three week period it wouldn’t matter if it was raining, snowing, or 95deg you would be trying to get yours!!

I hunt in Conecuh. Old guy that lives up the road says the whole state has killed 30% less this year than in previous years. Something about weather patterns keeping them nocturnal? Idk, but we aren’t seeing shite. Was blaming it on logging Co. clear cutting our lease last year but looks like that isn’t the only reason

Had an awesome hunt on Saturday in Perry County MS. All the action was between noon and 2:30. Saw 5 bucks and 4 doe. Couldn’t get a shot on a good shooter. Did get this video of a small buck chasing around my stand.

They’ve been in rut at our place in Washington county for at least a couple of weeks but our activity has been really down this late in the year. Not really sure on reasoning behind that. Had fields where I was seeing a bunch of does and now I really haven’t been seeing does but still been seeing bucks cruising. If anything it may be close to over on our place. I killed a really good one yesterday morning and he was long and lean. Not much fat left on him. Same with the one my buddy killed Saturday morning. Both stinking to high heaven as well.

All I know is we had tons of bucks last week and suddenly just vanished. We are overrun with does right now. Same at all our neighboring camps. One rifle shot even heard in last week while lots of bucks killed during cold week.

I don't know if makes them nocturnal or go so deep into woods you can't get them, etc. I don't really care I just know I can't shoot what I can't see.

But I am not a fricking idiot either. There only scientific study ever conducted on deer anywhere was done in Alabama and I bought his conclusion book and read it.

He didn't study deer movement etc but days where you saw deer in daylight hours. I think it was a 5 year study and one of the points it made was sightings dramatically dropped off all over the state when temp was over 70 degrees.

My game camera apps even indentify sightings temperature ranges and show the same exact thing. I bet most of you with cameras out there in S Alabama do the same

Warm temps will certainly decrease daylight sightings of deer. However, weather has nothing to do with the rut, but will affect how much of it you see in daylight hours.

You’re not an idiot, but you believe there’s only been one scientific study done on deer? There’s been many studies done.

MSU has been doing scientific studies on deer for at least 25 years.

MSU has been doing studies on deer activity with gps etc. That’s the way almost all scientific research in deer is done. And it’s fine but if deer are moving a lot in the deepest inaccessible spots in the wood, are those really good hunting days.

This study was first and only one done on visibility to hunters. It’s excellent. it’s by Dr. Robert Sheppard. It’s about hunting opportunities not movement.
