i have 08 Jeep Wrangler and I'm having to put 2 quarts in it every month. I have no leaks so it's not that. Any help will be great.

It's an old common issue with the engine. Look it up on any jeep forum or probably a simple web search for articles will give you plenty of info. Get ready for all of the "that engine sucks" comments.

I'm assuming you have done a complete oil change and put the correct amount back in there and are still having to add two qts each month?

A co-worker had a '09 that was eating oil too. Not good. Means oil is going to places inside the motor where it should not be at and cannot get out. Could be the PCV valve sticking open. Either way I wouldn't risk it

With this being the 3rd or 4th jeep post the past couple of days, I'm glad I drive a Tacoma!

My 07 is like this. I add quart every month. I don't put a lot of miles on it so the cost factor is no issue. About 6000 - 8000 miles a year.
From all the reading up I have done, this is just a known issue.

I love my jeep. The kids love it too. But I do miss my truck.
I am thinking about selling the jeep this spring and buy a Tacoma

I have a 4.0L out of a low mileage TJ sitting on an engine stand in my garage if you want to swap an oil consumption problem for an oil leaking problem.

Well according to the chrysler/jeep manual 1qt per 1k miles is acceptable to them.

Seriously keep an eye on it. its the main reason I have a v8 in mine now. My engine spun a bearing. This is a known issue with them, sometimes they fight it, sometimes they dont. They fought me, I caved, because I didnt want to fork over a large some of money to a lawyer for a 1-2 year legal battle in which I "probably" would win.

They had an issue with cranks for about a 1 year period in production out of a plant. late 07's to 08's

Are you using cheap oil? The cheap stuff can affect the seals sometimes. Have you tried a synthetic for an oil change cycle to see if that helps? I'd try that on your next oil change.

that is why i will never own a modern Chrysler vehicle.

the oil consumption is very common in the 07-08 years. and some of the 2012's will require a new drive's side head due to bad casting.

Pretty much why I will never by a new one again(or one with any expectation of warranty, longevity, etc..), from them.

They screwed me over and during the whole process every person I spoke with, from the dealership to corporate, lead me to believe they had a collective IQ in the single digits

Can't say I disagree, but there isn't much choice, if you want a new jeep. Yeh, you can buy an older one, but those engines have their own issues also.

My gas cap light came on. But the code is either a simple gas cap or the evap canister underneath. ??
