I know in Franklin County the patience of the game wardens and land owners has worn thin as well, as much like this thread there is little to no personal responsibility on the part of the dog hunters. I appreciate the passion of Down for his sport but it is exceeded by the passion of land owners (again in our area where it has been a big problem) for protecting their property rights. The whole community has tired of the abuse by a certain group of people..shooting anything, littering the roads and disrespect for the locals. It will continue to dwindle thankfully and I wish Down the best in his area.

What you gotta realize is that when you call for a ban on dog hunting, you are using the same logic as somebody calling for gun bans. You're assuming the ones who are already criminals will obey the new laws.

What they're doing is already illegal. You can't hunt on a public highway.

No shite. Do you think they give a damn?

Now you are getting the mentality of the geniuses I'm dealing with... they don't give a frick. And as others have said, if you call the game warden or sheriff, the hunters are long gone before they would get there. If I'm even there to call the cops, which I don't like dealing with police anyway.

Your arguing that all dogs hunters trespass and ruin your hunting. Maybe I used a bad analogy with the boat issue but my point is if one thing can be outlawed because of personal opinions where will it stop after that.

So what good do you think banning dog hunting will do?

It'll keep my kids from getting to do it, and you'll still be dealing with the same bullshite. Congratulations, you just made the rule book thicker and got nothing out of it.

It wasnt on this thread. Sorry shouldve specified. It was another massive 30 page thread on it a while back.

Jog your memory. They trespassed. I confronted stating private property. Came around road they radioed ahead and friend blocked road. Blocked in dss truck and pointed guns in our direction while chewing us out. Many drunk. Honestly thought there would be shots fired.
Thats the type of dog hunters i deal with. Jail is not a foreign place for them. They disregard law and others rights. It has been that way since i was starting hunting. Hasnt changed. I understand your argument and honestly believe you are a good hunter. I just dont think you fully understand the depth of the issue in my area

I agree but fine the ones who break the rules but no need to completely outlaw those of us who do it correctly

That's EXACTLY what happens here each and every year. Deer dogging is banned here. Through the years we have lost count of the dogs that we've had to put down because of unethical "hunters" going to the pound and turning loose packs of dogs just to keep the deer "stirred up". And let me tell you something else about these dogs: They get mean, vicious, aggressive, and dangerous in no time at all.

Fyi. Im not for banning dogs cause i respect your rights. I am for a tagging and trAcking system. I catch your dog, call the wardens. Give it to them and you get fined. Fines increase as the violations increase. They have tried this and it has been somewhat affective in areas
Same as if i get caught illegally baiting.

Remove the excuse of "catching" dogs as the run off my property.

I don't have a problem with the method of dog hunting. I have a problem with the people dog hunting in my area because they abuse my rights and take liberties from me dampening my pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness.

Like I said, still hunters don't just show up and sit on the right of way. If it was illegal maybe they'll take their operation deeper into the woods/swamp. I'll send them to your place... you seem to be cool with it.

Ahh I remember now.

Don't remember calling you a liar. I might have though. I apologize if I did.

This is the point I've been trying to make the past few minutes. Who here thinks their dog hunting problems will even be affected by a ban?

If it was outlawed in our area clearly the repercussions would be greater.

Those who want a ban need to carefully read this post
