I'd rather see bow hunting banned. Dog hunting is an advancement in the sport compared to bow hunting...really...just think about it. Cut that antiquated , archaic shite out. Get a pack of dogs and lobby for more dog days in the season.

Hell yeah, I caint hit nuttin except garfish wit ma recurve anyways and them wheelie things on bows are an obamanation. Make everything but dogs, shotguns and corn illegal.

Ban lifted after suit filed. No way in hell I file that. Sanctions would have been very possible.

Boy that's going to make for some fantastic reading on LASM.

That was the place people always went to learn how to hate dog hunting. Legalizing it there again is going to cost me down the road

Because it seems to unanimously piss off every person within 50 miles of there except for the people who do it. People screaming to ban dog hunting was much more prevalent on the interwebs before it was banned there.

Any dog I ever saw running on our land was shot, no discussion, no remorse.

I agree with the ban. The needs of the few at the expense of the needs of the many type of deal...

Interesting. I have no interest in hunting with dogs, but I also have no problem with them having two weeks to do it. If you dont like it, dont go in the woods then or get your own place. They have two weeks, the still hunters have 2-3 months, fair enough.

More importantly here, is the which side the law is going to fall on the ability to ban any type of hunting.

I wonder how they will address the open dates since there are none for this year (I assume). Might not go anywhere until its settled in court. You know anymore ALXTGR?

I still say no hunter for be against a ban of any type of hunting from a legal stand point. Reduced days to a little of nothing, which is what they have now, but an outright ban is dangerous for the sport.

No, just read the TT article.

I think this is short sighted. If we don't police our own, we create antis from people who otherwise don't care, at the moment.

I can agree with that. This is a tricky one with so many anti, even from hunters themselve, that having might bring more opposition to hunting overall than not having it. (hope that makes sense)

Well I'm not sure about all yall, but we open dog season on Sat. and I will be there. Can't wait to hear the dogs run. We have been having some really good still hunts lately, but nothing beats the dogs working. This is only my second year with our camp that runs dogs and overall it has been fun. We keep them on our land (18,000 acres) and we only shoot 4 1/2 year old deer. Yes some 'mess ups' but, its a good time and great tradition. WE hunt the basin and there are literally 3,000 thickets that are only huntable with dogs.

Kisatchie is a unique situation. So many people use those roads. It's not just other hunters. I can see other situations where dogs would not be an issue. Kisatchie is just a perfect storm of suck for that activity.
