Back at it in Southern Mohouse.
Pulled a card when walking in
Pretty sure they're still rutting
Or at least one was last night

Looks like some good genes got passed along. Very cool picture.

Appears I missed the rut, all the big bucks taken in the area were last weekend in shite conditions (warm and foggy), while my hunts under what should be perfect conditions have been terrible. And the bucks we still have on camera are all between midnight and 2 AM.

Area 2 late season sit this am. Had one of those mornings in the saddle - gun hung on bottom stick with haul rope, had to climb down to un-hang it. Couldn’t get platform right - finally just rolled with it and was set up 10 min after shooting time. 20 min later decent 8 came in and he was down. Funny how it works sometimes. No giant but a decent kill.

Yup

Last year at Lake Ophelia, a dude beat me to a spot by about 45 seconds. We were walking to the same location from opposite ends. It was frustrating as hell but I just walked along a ridge and set up near where I saw a rub the day before while scouting. Killed a young buck about an hour later just after the sun came up.

I still have 2 of them. The most comfortable stand out there.

So far so good. Solid back wall which is something I need. Have a tendency to let off a little tension prior to release.

Appreciate it and congratulations on the deer. About to get nasty up here. About time to head south also.
